"Don't you dare!" Sophia shouted immediately she realized what Lucien was trying to do.
Lucien ignored her warning completely.
A grin slowly appeared on his face as he moved closer to her bed. For a brief moment, he actually tried to stop himself. Deep down, he knew this was wrong. He knew he should turn around and leave before things escalated into something unnecessary.
But the feeling inside him refused to settle.
The need to prove himself kept pushing him forward.
Ever since Sophia made that ridiculous comment earlier, it had been bothering him more than it should. Lucien himself couldn't understand why he even cared so much about what she thought, but somehow her teasing had bruised his pride badly.
And now here he was.
Standing far too close to her.
Sophia's eyes widened nervously as he approached. Instinctively, her hand flew to her lips as though she could somehow stop him from doing whatever reckless thing he had planned.
