Arabella left the infirmary with nowhere particular to go. She had practically run away because of the Beta. The tension between him and Sophia was thick enough to suffocate anyone standing nearby, and Arabella knew there was unfinished business between them.
Staying there any longer would only make things awkward.
At first, she headed toward her room, but halfway there she changed her mind.
Going back to her lonely room was the last thing she needed.
Without Lily around, the palace already felt too quiet, too empty, and now the king had somehow invaded every corner of her thoughts. Every little thing reminded her of him, his voice, his scent, the dangerous way he looked at her like she belonged to him completely.
It was frustrating.
She needed distraction.
So instead of returning to her chambers, Arabella decided to wander around the palace grounds again. She had already explored most of the major areas within the castle walls, but there were still places she had yet to see.
