"So where are we going? I am not letting you, change your mind or you don't want me going anymore" I asked, shooting Stephan a playful sideways glance.
He smiled that slow, devastating smile that always made my stomach flutter and kept his eyes on the winding road ahead. "Well, you will see."
The drive was peaceful, almost dreamlike. Stephan kept one hand steady on the wheel, the other intertwined with mine on the center console. Well, he didn't allow Lucas to drive.
His thumb traced lazy, soothing circles on the back of my hand, sending little sparks of warmth up my arm. Soft instrumental music played through the speakers a gentle piano melody that blended seamlessly with the low hum of the engine and the occasional sigh of the wind outside.
Now and then, he would glance over at me. Each time our eyes met, my heart skipped a beat, like a schoolgirl crush that refused to fade.
I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks, but I didn't look away.
