Zara was walking home alone when she got a call from an unknown number. "What's your favorite scary movie?" a distorted voice asked—just like Scream.
"Nora," Zara said, her hand on the pepper spray in her pocket.
"Wrong," the voice laughed. "I'm someone who knows what you did, Zara. How you let your sister die."
Zara froze. She'd never told anyone—how she'd seen Lila being bullied, how she'd been too scared to help, how she'd found her body in their bathroom.
The line went dead. She turned to see the oni figure standing at the end of the street, axe raised. Behind it, another figure—wearing a Ghostface mask—stepped out of the shadows.
Two killers.
Zara ran, but the oni was faster. It swung the axe at her head—she ducked, and it split a lamppost in two. The Ghostface figure tackled her to the ground, knife raised—but Kairos crashed into them on his motorcycle, sending the knife flying.
The two killers vanished into the night, leaving behind a photo of Zara's sister Lila, with a note: "YOU'RE JUST LIKE THEM."
