CHAPTER TWO
TEN YEARS LATER
The sun shone brightly on a small village which was beaming with life and activities. The village was surrounded by hills and valleys, which gave it the name Hilltown. Hilltown was always a lively village divided in three layout; the village square, where the market inns and the guild hall was located, the residential area and the large area of farmlands. Hilltown maybe small but it's people were satisfied with their doings.
The hills serve as various watch zones because Hilltown was closed to the forest with large numbers of beasts and all. At the top of one of these hills, a young boy, at the age of ten came into view, sitting legged crossed and eyes closed, in a meditative pattern. The boy had red fiery hair, dark skin and well, cute. He was at peace with nature around him as the soft wind blew, filling his nostrils. Visible form of red energy was circling around him, he could see it within himself, a large chamber which was being filled to the brim with spirit energy.
Roman opened his eyes, smiling, his red iris glowing slightly.
"Am getting good at gathering spirit energy, mom's gonna be proud" he stood and walked towards a big tree, he gathered spirit energy into his fist, took a stance, then. BAM!
He punched the tree hard, leaving a visible hole, his fist coming out of the other end.
"I did it!" Roman rejoiced, until pain gripped him in his hands.
"Outch!" He cried out, rubbing his hands while trying to ease the pain "that hurts. But I still put a hole in it"
"No way you did that!"
Roman turned to see a boy of around his age walking towards him.
"What do you want Billy?" Roman frowm
"I was around when I heard your pathetic scream, so I swung by. And there's no way you made that hole in the tree, I may be able to do it, but not you little twerp" Billy claimed.
Billy was slightly older than Roman, black hair and dark skin.
"Why don't I put a hole in you". Roman threatened, gritting his teeth.
"Is that a challenge little twerp?" Billy moved closer.
"Am a tiger, not a twerp" Roman defended
"Little twerp is calling himself a tiger" Billy laughed "then show me" Billy took a fighting stance.
Roman was one that never backed down from a challenge. He was what they call, a big mouth.
Roman took a fighting stance and beckoned for Billy to attack first.
Billy launched forward with a punch aiming at Roman's face, but Roman blocked it with his arm crossed, then jumped a few feet backwards, leaving a gap between them.
"Are you running away now little twerp"
Billy mocked as he ran towards Roman.
"Not quite" Roman channeled spirit energy into his legs and dash forward, appearing right in front of Billy. Channeling more energy into his fist, he hammered it on Billy's face, BAM! Billy was swift enough to block the hit with his wrist, but the force was still hard enough to send him to the ground with a thud.
Roman smiled "You're lucky I held back, or else you would have ended up like the tree"
He said proudly with arms folded.
Billy slowly stood, he was breathing hard, what the hell, he thought. Billy was known to always pick on Roman, besting him in multiple fights, but the little twerp defeated him today, and with one punch.
Billy couldn't take it, never.
Blue spirit energy began to emit from his body and it formed into large bear.
ROAR!! The bear roared as it rushed towards Roman, who was frightened. BAM!
The bear back handed Roman and he flew back, slamming into the tree with force, WHAM.
Billy smiled as the bear spirit disappears back into his body.
"You're lucky my animal spirit held back, otherwise you'll be in a hospital for months, little twerp"
Billy scoffed as he walked away.
Roman laid on the ground, not planning on getting up soon. He channeled spirit energy to his back, which hurt like hell, maybe broken.
"He's lucky I don't have my animal spirit yet"
Roman groaned in pains "I'll just wait here till it heals"
