Endless Chaos – Chaos Void Plane: The Path of Story
Chapter 9 – The Dragon Slayer's Legend
The wind howled across the open field.
The massive dragon spread its wings wider.
Flames began leaking from the cracks between its dark scales.
The wound Raphael created was already healing.
The villagers watching from afar felt their hearts sink.
"It's regenerating…"
"The dragon is too strong…"
Lina clenched her fists.
"Raphael…"
But Raphael didn't move back.
He stepped forward again.
The dragon opened its mouth.
A blazing sphere of fire gathered inside.
Heat washed across the field like a burning wave.
The elder shouted from the village.
"Move!"
The dragon released its breath.
FWOOOOOOOOOSH!
A massive torrent of flame rushed toward Raphael.
The ground burned.
Grass turned to ash instantly.
But Raphael stepped forward instead of running.
He whispered quietly.
"This is the moment."
Back in the village, the people watched in horror.
"The Dragon Slayer is going to die!"
But the elder spoke softly.
"No…"
"This is the climax of the story."
And the villagers realized something.
This moment felt exactly like the story Raphael had told.
The hero facing the dragon alone.
Standing against impossible fire.
Their hearts tightened.
Their belief grew stronger.
Raphael felt it instantly.
Power surged through his body again.
The Story Seed was evolving.
The legend was growing.
Raphael closed his eyes briefly.
In his mind he imagined the full story.
The dragon roaring.
The hero stepping forward.
The ultimate strike that would decide everything.
Raphael raised his arm slowly.
But this time…
The wind around him began swirling violently.
Dust lifted from the ground.
Even the flames approaching him seemed to split.
Raphael opened his eyes.
"They believe it."
He stepped forward into the fire.
And shouted:
"Dragon Severing Strike – Final Form!"
He swung his arm with everything he had.
Body.
Will.
Story.
Belief.
All of it gathered into one moment.
SKKKKKRRRRRRRRAAAAAAASH!!
A gigantic blade of wind exploded from Raphael's swing.
It was no longer a thin slash.
It was a massive arc of compressed air.
Almost like an invisible mountain splitting the world.
The attack tore through the dragon's fire breath.
Cut through the storm of flames.
And slammed directly into the dragon's neck.
For a single moment…
Everything froze.
Then—
BOOOOOOOOM!
The dragon's enormous head separated from its body.
The massive form collapsed to the ground.
The earth trembled from the impact.
The sky slowly cleared as the dark clouds dispersed.
Silence filled the battlefield.
Raphael stood there breathing heavily.
"…Did that actually work?"
Behind him…
The villagers erupted into cheers.
"He did it!"
"The Dragon Slayer killed the dragon!"
"Raphael defeated it!"
Their voices echoed across the valley.
The legend had been completed.
But something strange happened.
Instead of a normal corpse…
The dragon's body dissolved into swirling mist.
Streams of glowing light rose into the sky.
Some of that light flowed toward Raphael.
Entering his body like warm currents.
Raphael suddenly felt stronger.
Sharper.
His senses expanded.
The elder whispered in awe.
"The story has been completed…"
"The Dragon Slayer Legend has formed."
A glowing symbol slowly appeared in the air above Raphael.
A faint image of a sword cutting through a dragon.
It lasted only a moment before fading away.
But everyone saw it.
Lina ran toward Raphael.
"You did it!"
Raphael laughed weakly.
"Barely."
He looked at his hands.
They were still trembling.
"That thing was way stronger than I expected."
The elder approached slowly.
"You just created a Legend Rank Story."
Raphael blinked.
"That sounds important."
"It is."
But before the elder could explain further…
A voice suddenly came from behind them.
"Well…"
"That was an interesting performance."
Everyone turned around instantly.
Standing on the road leading into the village…
Was a tall stranger wearing long dark robes.
A strange book floated beside him.
His eyes glowed faintly with silver light.
The elder's expression immediately changed.
"…A Story Cultivator."
The stranger looked at Raphael with curiosity.
"So you're the one who created that story."
Raphael tilted his head.
"…Depends."
"Are you here to congratulate me?"
The stranger smiled faintly.
"Partly."
Then his expression turned serious.
"But mainly…"
He looked toward the sky above the Chaos Void Plane.
"…because the birth of a new Story Path has been noticed."
Raphael frowned.
"Noticed by who?"
The stranger answered quietly.
"By the beings who rule the great Story Cities."
"And by things… far older than them."
Far above the world…
Beyond the stars…
Beyond the sky of the Chaos Void Plane…
The endless Chaos Void Sea stirred again.
Because a new story had been written into reality.
And countless ancient eyes had just turned toward it.
