Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Reincarnated as a Pony, I'll Show My True Skills in Another World

A human soul crossed over into the world of ponies, born in Canterlot, the Central City of Equestria, as a newborn Unicorn.

When she opened her eyes and saw two kind, equine faces hovering above her, she was startled.

As the two Unicorns scrambled to pick her up from the crib to soothe her, she realized that her hands had turned into hooves.

Only then did she realize that she had become a pony, or rather, a Little Unicorn.

"This is... just too awesome!"

However, she could only let out a childish whinny, which delighted the two Unicorns fussing over her—her current parents.

She accepted this cross-species change almost without hesitation, and could even say she accepted the fact that she had become a pony with immense joy.

Because human ability has its limits.

She had learned one thing from her short life: the more one plays with schemes, the more one realizes that human ability has its limits, unless one transcends humanity.

So, she was done being human!

When she was a human, she had to work like a beast of burden every day just to get by.

But now that she had become a literal beast of burden, she actually had the chance to do the things she loved.

It really makes one... makes a pony feel deeply emotional.

Since this is the world of ponies, she would be able to learn real magic.

You have to know, this is a world of magic!

If it were the old her, she would definitely think this was childish; after all, the shiny and bright word "magic" is usually associated with children's media and is quite impractical.

But what if magic were real? That would be a different story entirely.

Also, ponies are cute; there's no doubt about that.

Feeling the magical power contained within her new body, and thinking about the comfortable life she would lead from now on—no more early morning classes, just learning magic, making friends, and going home to sleep on time—she felt like she was going to cry with excitement.

She couldn't wait for her body to grow up quickly so she could start enjoying magic sooner.

Just kidding, a person... a pony in Equestria, and a Unicorn at that, how could one not yearn for magic?

Just then, a miraculous scene occurred.

"Oh, celestia above! You have to look!"

The stallion, who had just become a father, let out a sound of surprise.

A glow of light suddenly appeared on the Little Unicorn baby's flank, and immediately after, a pattern emerged on her delicate skin.

It looked like a meteor-shaped cutie mark with a mysterious halo.

Suns, moons, stars—cutie marks with celestial elements like these often symbolize that a Little Unicorn will have special talent in magic.

"Our child is a genius! Perhaps she will become a great Unicorn in the future!"

At first, the parents were very worried because their child was extremely weak after birth; she didn't cry or fuss, didn't even breathe, and even her heartbeat was barely detectable.

The family doctor said that the Little Unicorn's soul couldn't withstand her primal magic, and once asserted that this poor pony wouldn't survive the night.

Now, seeing their child looking so energetic, and even having a cutie mark appear.

It was simply a miracle, a miracle of life! For parents, nothing is more important than their child being okay.

"Let's give this little genius a name, darling."

"Oh, I've already thought of it, just for this day! Our child, Shimmering Light!"

Shimmering Light, in her swaddling clothes, couldn't move and couldn't discover the changes on her body; she could only watch the two big ponies cheering and jumping for joy, making sounds that seemed very happy.

Hmm, I can't hear clearly; what are they mumbling about?

Right now, she was just a newborn baby, and because her body hadn't fully developed, various external stimuli were as difficult to distinguish as if they were covered in fog.

However, she would adapt to these sooner or later, especially learning the script here; after all, language and writing were the important media for her to understand this world and magic.

Can't wait, bring on the magic! (Joy)

She subconsciously controlled the magical power within her body, letting it release through the horn on her head to conjure a small spark.

"Bang!"

Narrowly avoiding the "small" spark that blew off more than half the roof, the two adult Unicorns looked at each other, seeing the shock in each other's eyes.

"I think... our child might be even more of a genius than we imagined."
