Chapter 3 - chapter 3:- The life before death pt3

Johan was respected in the organisation not just because of his friendliness and camaraderie but also because of his overwhelming resourcefulness in killing and interrogating people.

He wasn't a skilled assassin or a powerful fighter who could hold his ground against power users. The most important thing in a fight, especially against power users for a non-power user, is intelligence.

The reason Johan has been able to be successful in his hunts is because of his unreal intelligence and the ability to use the items around him to kill his targets.

The Vanquisher was notoriously famous among the power user's society for his cruelty. His name was famous even among the underworld mob bosses.

"If you want to spend your time in the underworld with less pain, then never get on the bad side of The Vanquisher" was the most famous saying when Johan was at the top of the food chain, a god of killing.

But Johan's name and face were only known by the juries of death. The information that Johan was the vanquisher was top secret in the organisation. Anyone who tried to sell the information about his identity was silenced before they would speak another word; even the most powerful power users never caused a mess anywhere near his country.

"The only reason the juries of death existed was because of the name he made for himself in the past. The reason why Germany had fewer attacks is because of his presence; the two power users who caused a mess at his college must not be relevant enough for the government to give them information regarding the most dangerous person in all of Europe."

Said one of the jury to a newcomer.

"Thank you for this, Mr Werner. I will promise to give them a quick, less painful death." Johan said to the man while bowing only his head.

"No, Mr Johan, if anything, I should be bowing on my knees to you. "It's only because of you that I was able to avenge my dead family." "But what do you mean by giving them a quick, less painful death?" Werner said with a confused look on his face.

"Ah... I meant that unlike my earlier targets, I won't torture them to my worst. I...am willing to get my name a little less dirty, you know." Johan said this while smiling.

To this Werner replied, "Uh...um...I am pretty sure you are not that old to be losing your edge."

"What are you talking about, Mr Werner? I am not a torturer." Johan said this while giggling a bit: "Now I will be taking my leave... I will call when I am ready to hunt... Take care, everyone." johan left the room, but...

Every single soul present in the room who had known Johan and his tactics since the beginning was shocked to an extent that they could not move at all not even a word about him came out of their mouths.

Mr Werner was the only person who was able to speak.

"Guys...I think Johan has someone he loves or likes."

One of the people present there spoke up.

"T-that d-d-definitely is a possible scenario...but..."

After coming outside of the room, he took a glance at the clock and saw that there was still an hour until his so-called 'night shift' ended.

He wandered around the place greeting everyone who passed by him gleefully. Everyone looked at him like he was a celebrity. For them he was more than just a celebrity. Then he came back to the front desk where Elesie was, she saw him and handed the food box to him.

"The Spargel and Hühnerfrikassee were delicious! I liked them even more than the schnitzel you had brought last year!" She said with a smile on her face, a genuine smile that only comes from true happiness.

"I knew it; you were a weirdo. Like, how does one remember the taste of a dish they ate an entire year ago?" Johan said this with genuine confusion.

"Obviously I remember; remembering is the only thing I am better at than you."

"Yeah, I do admit you are better than me in that area. But I still can beat you until you start crying like I used to."

"Aren't you going to be late for home, sir?" She said this with a smile on her face but...well.…this time it wasn't genuine; anyone could see the anger behind her smile.

Johan started walking away while giggling at her. He took the elevator, wore a face mask and started heading straight to his home. For the two power users, he had decided that he will hunt them next week, with a proper plan, but in a few moments his decision changed completely.

On his way home he saw a small group of people in the distance; since it was late at night, there weren't many people nearby. As he got closer to them, he saw icicles, water and small and big cuts on the walls on both of his sides; there he also saw a big pool of blood, and the people who were standing were looking at something.

A few of the faint-of-heart people stepped behind, horrified at the scene they saw; they puked – they vomited nonstop with a terrified look on their faces. In Johan's line of work he had seen countless bodies – burnt ones, skinned ones and so on. But even though he was still a human at heart, the sight was something he should remember for the rest of his life; the sight was that horrific.

There were two bodies, and they weren't of the crazy wind and ice power users; they were of more victims. The bodies were of two children who were around 8-11 years old; this age estimate was given by the police later on upon using forensics to identify them. The bodies were in such a bad condition that even 'gruesome' would not suffice to describe their condition.

The body of one child was cut in half from the shoulder to the end of the abdomen; the child's intestines were all over the ground, and the blood was still flowing towards the feet of the crowd while the child remained dead. The second one was unfathomable, as the people stayed there. The sight of the second body became more and more horrendous; the second child was in small fragments. The child had been completely frozen down to the bones, and the frozen body was then shattered, upon which remained what was gazed at by the people. As time passed and the ice started to melt and the slabs of meat started to thaw, the sight became more and more horrific.

Johan had never been this horrified before; the sight was indeed so disturbing it would make anyone vomit, and so did Johan. He did not dare to take another look at the bodies.

He ran straight to his home and quickly and silently went to his room; he immediately dialled the number on the black card.

"Tomorrow...night...I need the area near Alexanderplatz completely empty except for James Clerk and Jason Wills...and tell Mr Werner that I won't be able to fulfil my promise of giving them a painless death...That's it."

There was no reply again, but the orders were carried out. The only word to describe the feeling Johan had felt was.... Anger
