The five of them were exited at first to be able to go out and try to find the gore magala. But Calvin the chief hunter had other ideas for them.
For a few weeks everyone were only allowed to go and stay outside of the outpost at the day, and before night they need to return.
Of course they weren't that sad about it since between them two individuals still needed to get a good enough feel of the forest and such.
Today all of them were inside of the outpost right now. Frank and Dorothy were asking the shop owners if they needed some help to get stuff from the forest.
While waiting they played with cards not playing to win but to pass the time. Jack was telling Wincent about the few funny experiences he and the others had.
One time they watched a Kulu-Ya-Ku getting chased by a Rathalos because it's egg was stolen. The Rathalos won in the end of it.
While they talked Frank come back with news. They managed to find someone who needed help gethering some things from the forest.
The job was that they needed to find Antidote herbs and bring them back with the roots. They wanted to see if they could keep it inside of the outpost to have a steady supply.
This job was given to them by one of the doctors named Jasper. He wants to make sure that they have antidote inside of the outpost because of the Gore magala.
Jasper was one of the doctors the others had introduced him to. He was working under David the head doctor.
He hasn't been introduced to him yet. His friends decided that it can wait. But he did get a little bit of info of him. He doesn't like it if a hunter doesn't do as he says while treating them and he will tie them to the bed if necessary.
After getting this job they finished playing and went out into the forest to find some. But they weren't the only ones going out.
Joel and his hunting party departed from the outpost as well. They planned to track down the Gore magala and find it's home.
Since in the day time no one saw it they planned to look for it at night. The first place they planned to look near is the mountain.
After going inside of the forest and avoiding the bigger monsters. They set up camp on top of the bigger trees canopy. They didn't wanted to stay on the ground.
Day and night they were looking for any signs to hopefully spot it. But they luck wasn't that good.
They have been inside of the forest for a few days now before at night one of them saw it. It was hard to see it clearly because of the darkness. But unmistakable what it was.
Probably the reason why they only spotted it now is because for some reason it only went out at night. Considering that it was classified as an intelligent monster it made sense.
It was only going out at night to hunt and do other things probably to avoid detection. But they weren't really thinking about it right now. They needed to follow it.
Without waiting a moment longer they departed to where it was flying towards. The mountain.
It was a hard climb but luckily there were vines at a few places scattered they used them to help with the climb. At half way up they saw a cave that's entrance was covered in moss and vine.
Almost hard to spot. After waiting for a while to see if anything decided to come out they decided to go in and investigate to see if they found the right cave.
Inside the cave was dark, the vines at the outside hanging down obstructed the light for coming in. Making it hard to see what was inside.
After going in the entrance they saw that the inside had moss growing as well. Joel was in front of them and he didn't see anything inside so he decided to go further in.
But before he could go further, one of his companions grabbed his shoulder.
Looking back to ask what was the problem he kept his mouth shut and didn't say anything. Because the look on their faces said it all.
Something was already inside of the cave that made the others stop in their tracks.
Slowly turning back to look, he finally saw it in the back corner of the cave, in the darkness. A big, black form of a monster. Scales dark black with a purple tint. Wings covering it's body like a cape.
He only needed that much before he realised what it was. The thing they were looking for.
A Gore magala. They have walked right into it's home.
