Chapter 27 - CHAPTER 32: THE PROBLEM WITH JEALOUSY

JAY-JAY POV

I hated Keifer.

Seriously.

I did.

So explain why my heart kept reacting every time he opened his mouth.

It was embarrassing.

Actually embarrassing.

The classroom had become quieter now, most of the boys half asleep under blankets while the lights stayed dim above us.

But Keifer?

Still awake.

Still looking at me.

Still acting like flirting was oxygen.

I tried focusing on my K-drama again.

Tried.

On screen, the male lead was jealous because another guy sat too close to the female lead.

I pointed dramatically at the screen.

"See? That's understandable behavior."

Cin immediately woke up slightly.

"Who are you talking to?"

"No one."

Keifer's voice came lazily from across the mattress.

"You trying to tell me something?"

I ignored him.

Peacefully.

Gracefully.

Maturely.

Then Yuri shifted beside me slightly and handed me a cold juice bottle from the small bag near him.

"Drink this before you dehydrate from yelling at people."

See?

Normal behavior.

Healthy behavior.

I took it immediately.

"Thank you."

Yuri smiled softly.

"No problem, Jay."

And suddenly—

the room became weirdly quiet.

Too quiet.

I looked up slowly.

Keifer was staring directly at Yuri's hand still holding the juice bottle.

Oh.

Oh no.

Cin noticed instantly.

"…Wait."

David sat up.

"No way."

Rory looked between them dramatically.

"HE'S JEALOUS."

Keifer scoffed immediately.

"I'm not jealous."

"You looked ready to fight a juice bottle," Felix said.

The room burst out laughing.

Meanwhile Keifer kept staring at Yuri calmly.

Too calmly.

Which somehow looked more dangerous.

I rolled my eyes.

"You're being dramatic."

Keifer looked at me immediately.

"I'm dramatic?"

"You flirt with me every five seconds."

"And you still blush every time."

"That's because you're irritating."

"Sure."

I opened my mouth to argue again.

Then Yuri casually fixed the blanket around my shoulders because it had slipped slightly.

A simple gesture.

Friendly.

Normal.

But the second Yuri touched the blanket—

Keifer sat up straighter instantly.

The room LOST IT.

"OH HE'S MAD MAD."

"BRO IS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE."

Cin nearly stopped breathing from laughter.

Meanwhile I stared at Keifer in disbelief.

"You are actually jealous."

"I'm not."

"You literally look offended."

"I just think he's annoying."

Yuri looked completely calm.

"I'm sitting right here."

"And you're still annoying."

The tension in the room became ridiculous.

Half the boys looked entertained.

The other half looked terrified.

And me?

I was trying not to smile.

Because seeing Keifer jealous was weirdly satisfying.

After all the stress he caused me?

He deserved suffering.

I crossed my arms smugly.

"Aww. Keifer's jealous."

His eyes narrowed slightly at my tone.

Then suddenly—

he smiled.

Dangerous mistake.

Because whenever Keifer smiled like that, it meant he was about to become a problem.

"Oh?" he said softly. "You like making me jealous?"

My confidence disappeared immediately.

"No."

"Liar."

"I'm not trying to make you jealous."

"You fixed her blanket kinda fast," Keifer told Yuri casually.

Yuri raised an eyebrow.

"She was cold."

"You looked too happy doing it."

The classroom exploded again.

Denzel covered his face with a pillow.

"I'm too tired for this love triangle."

"It's not a triangle," I snapped instantly.

Cin pointed dramatically.

"IT IS ABSOLUTELY A TRIANGLE."

I wanted to throw something at all of them.

Preferably a chair.

Meanwhile Keifer was still looking at me.

Focused.

Annoyingly calm now.

Then he suddenly held his hand out toward me.

"Come here."

I blinked.

"What?"

"You heard me."

The room became silent instantly.

Even Yuri looked over now.

I stared at Keifer suspiciously.

"Why?"

"So I can stop being jealous."

My face heated up so fast it should've been illegal.

The boys started screaming again.

"BRO JUST ADMITTED IT."

"HE HAS NO FEAR."

I grabbed the nearest pillow and hit Keifer directly with it.

He laughed immediately.

Low.

Warm.

Completely entertained.

And somehow that laugh made my stomach flip again.

Which was bad.

Very bad.

Because the more time passed tonight—

the harder it became to stay angry at him.

And Keifer knew it.

That was the dangerous part.

He knew.
