Nobody in the condo recovered after that.

Rory was walking around dramatically.
Felix looked betrayed.
And Blaster?
Blaster looked personally attacked.
"You mean to tell me," he said slowly, "we've been going to school with a famous mafia celebrity gangster?"
Jay-Jay crossed her arms from the couch.
"You're being dramatic."
"WE ARE NOT BEING DRAMATIC ENOUGH," Cin screamed.
Luka pointed proudly at another frame.
"That one was her most viral performance!"
Cin grabbed it instantly.
Then froze.

Rory looked over her shoulder.
Then screamed dramatically,
"WHY DOES SHE LOOK LIKE A MOVIE VILLAIN?!"

Her expression was cold.
Confident.
Dangerous.
Like she could ruin someone's life just by looking at them.

"That's because she enjoyed intimidating cameras."

"No because why does she look like she owns the city?!"

"She kind of did back then."
"That is NOT helping," Yuri muttered.
Then Rory blinked suddenly.

"IS THAT A MOVIE PREMIERE?!"

"She acted in movies too."

"You're telling me you people fought gangs AND filmed movies after?!"

"We were booked and busy."

"OH MY GOD SHE WAS EVERYONE'S CRUSH."
Luka nodded proudly.
"Boys used to fight over Ate Jay-Jay online."
I looked at Jay-Jay automatically.
And unfortunately—
that explained a lot too.
The confidence.
The attention she naturally attracted.
The way she acted like eyes following her was normal.
Because for her?
It probably was.
Rory still looked personally betrayed.
"So what were you guys exactly?!"
Robin grinned proudly.
"Singers."
"Dancers," Cyrus added.
"Actors," Adrian said quietly.
"Gangsters," Luka finished proudly.
Jay-Jay pointed at him immediately.
"You are becoming too confident."

Unfortunately—
the child usually was right.
And somehow…
watching Jay-Jay sink deeper into the couch while her entire secret life got exposed in front of Section E—
was the funniest thing I'd seen all week.
Even if one specific thing still bothered me.
The way Adrian looked at her.
And the way she never pushed him away.
