A New Idea
The breeze softened as the afternoon stretched on.
The sun dipped slightly lower.
Casting a golden glow across the endless green field.
Elara sat close to Damian.
Their baby resting peacefully in her arms.
Damian's fingers traced lazy circles on the blanket.
His mind… calm.
Then suddenly—
He spoke.
"What if we leave for a while?"
Elara turned to him.
Confused.
"Leave?"
He nodded slightly.
"A family trip."
The words hung in the air.
Simple.
But meaningful.
Elara blinked.
Then a smile slowly formed on her lips.
"A trip…"
She repeated softly.
Her eyes lit up.
"That actually sounds nice."
Damian watched her reaction carefully.
"You'd like that?"
"I'd love that."
She adjusted the baby gently in her arms.
"It'll be our first trip together… as a family."
Something about that made Damian's chest feel warm.
He nodded slowly.
"Then we go."
Elara laughed softly.
"Just like that?"
He raised an eyebrow.
"Yes."
She shook her head, smiling.
"You're unbelievable."
A small pause passed.
Then she looked at him again.
"I have a place in mind."
Damian leaned slightly closer.
"Where?"
Her eyes sparkled.
"Switzerland."
The name alone felt like a dream.
"Mountains… snow… quiet places…"
She continued softly.
"And it's beautiful. Perfect for us… and the baby."
Damian watched her as she spoke.
The way her face lit up.
The way her voice softened.
He didn't need more convincing.
"Then Switzerland it is."
Elara smiled wider.
"Really?"
"Really."
She leaned slightly into him.
Already imagining it.
"What about the weather… what we'll need… her clothes…"
She started thinking out loud.
Damian listened.
A faint smile on his face.
For once—
The future didn't feel like a battlefield.
It felt like something to look forward to.
Their voices blended softly with the wind.
Planning.
Imagining.
Dreaming.
And somewhere in between those quiet conversations—
A new chapter of their life began forming.
