Chapter 162 - Home in Your Arms

Home in Your Arms

The kitchen slowly settled into a calm rhythm.

The soft clinking of plates.

The gentle sound of cutlery being arranged.

Elara placed the final dish on the table.

Turning slightly to admire everything.

"Not bad…"

She said with a small smile.

Damian stepped beside her.

Close.

Very close.

"Not bad?"

He repeated softly.

She turned her head to look at him.

"What?"

He leaned closer.

"This is perfect."

Her lips curved into a shy smile.

"Then sit."

He didn't move.

Instead—

He kept looking at her.

"What?"

She asked again, softer this time.

"You look better like this."

"Like what?"

"Happy."

Her expression softened instantly.

She reached for his hand.

"I am…"

A pause.

"Because of you."

Something in Damian's chest shifted.

He pulled her gently closer.

Resting his forehead against hers.

"And you… are everything to me."

For a moment—

They stayed like that.

Quiet.

Still.

Then—

A soft sound came from the baby monitor.

Elara turned quickly.

"Elena is awake…"

Damian smiled faintly.

"I'll get her."

He walked out of the kitchen.

Moments later—

He returned.

Holding their baby girl carefully.

Elena blinked slowly.

Still sleepy.

Elara's face lit up instantly.

"My baby…"

She reached out.

But Damian didn't hand her over immediately.

Instead—

He sat down first.

Gently placing Elena between them.

"Family breakfast."

He said simply.

Elara smiled warmly.

They sat together.

Elara feeding Elena slowly.

Carefully.

Damian watched them both.

His gaze soft.

Unusual.

"What?"

Elara asked.

"You're staring again."

"I like what I see."

She laughed softly.

"You always say that."

"And I always mean it."

Their knees brushed under the table.

Elara fed Damian a small bite playfully.

"Eat."

He leaned forward.

Taking it from her spoon.

Their eyes met again.

A quiet spark passing between them.

Not intense.

Not overwhelming.

Just steady.

Real.

After breakfast—

Elara carried Elena gently.

Rocking her lightly.

Damian stood nearby.

Watching them.

"You're good at this…"

He said quietly.

Elara looked at him.

"At what?"

"Being… everything."

Her cheeks warmed slightly.

"You're not so bad yourself."

He stepped closer.

His hand brushing Elena's tiny fingers.

"She's lucky."

Elara shook her head softly.

"No… we are."

Their eyes met again.

And in that moment—

Nothing else mattered.

Not the past.

Not the darkness.

Just this.

Their home.

Their love.

Their family.

The day stretched ahead of them.

Slow.

Peaceful.

And for once—

They didn't need to rush it.

Because they already had everything they needed.
