Chapter 272 - Waiting for Ryan

Part 2: Waiting for Ryan

Some moments don't rush.

They stretch.

They linger.

They make every second feel longer…

Because something important is about to happen.

A Quiet Before Everything Changes

The mansion had gone softer.

Quieter than usual.

Not empty—

Just… careful.

Every step lighter.

Every voice lower.

Because everyone knew.

Any moment now—

Everything would change.

Elara sat by the window.

The same place she loved—

But today…

She didn't look outside much.

Her hand rested on her belly.

Slow circles.

Gentle touches.

"…You're quiet today."

Damian's voice came from behind her.

She didn't turn immediately.

"…I'm thinking."

He walked closer.

"…About?"

She smiled faintly.

"…Everything."

He didn't ask more.

He just stood beside her.

His hand moving naturally—

Resting over hers on her stomach.

"…He's taking his time."

"…He gets that from you."

She teased softly.

"…I don't take my time."

"…You do."

"…Only when it matters."

She looked at him then.

And smiled.

Seraphina Is Not Patient

Running footsteps broke the calm.

"MUMMY!"

Seraphina rushed in—

Stopping right in front of Elara.

"…Is he coming out today?"

Elara blinked.

"…No, my love."

"…What about now?"

"…Still no."

"…What about tonight?"

Damian stepped in.

"…Princess."

She looked at him immediately.

"…He will come when he's ready."

"…But I'm ready."

"…He didn't ask you."

Silence.

Then—

Seraphina folded her arms.

"…That's rude."

Elara laughed softly.

Ethan & Amelia — Soft Corners

In another part of the house—

Amelia leaned against the balcony rail.

Ethan stood behind her.

Close.

Not touching yet.

"…You've been following me all day."

She said quietly.

"…I've been walking."

"…And you've been behind me."

"…Coincidence."

She turned—

Looking at him directly.

"…No."

A pause.

Then she stepped closer.

"…Talk to me."

He exhaled slowly.

"…I just…"

He stopped.

"…Just what?"

His eyes dropped briefly—

Then back to her.

"…I don't like the idea of anything happening… and I'm not there."

She softened.

Her hand lifted—

Resting gently on his chest.

"…Nothing is happening."

"…I know."

"…Then breathe."

A pause.

"…I am breathing."

"…No…"

She smiled slightly.

"…You're watching."

He didn't deny it.

So she leaned in—

Pressing a soft kiss to his lips.

Slow.

Calming.

"…Now you're breathing."

A small smile appeared.

"…Maybe."

Luca Is Panicking (For No Reason)

Back in the living room—

Luca was pacing.

"…Why am I nervous?"

"…You're not the one giving birth."

Ethan said.

"…Still!"

"…What if something happens?"

"…Nothing will happen."

Damian's voice came calmly.

Luca stopped immediately.

"…Right."

"…Nothing will happen."

"…Good."

"…Good…"

He sat down.

Then stood up again.

"…I'm still nervous."

Everyone ignored him.

A Night of Anticipation

Night fell slowly.

The mansion grew quieter again.

Lights dimmed.

Everyone stayed closer.

Waiting.

Not saying it out loud—

But feeling it.

Elara lay in bed.

Damian beside her.

One hand still resting gently on her stomach.

"…Are you scared?"

He asked quietly.

She thought about it.

Then—

"…No."

A pause.

"…I trust you."

His eyes shifted to her.

"…That's dangerous."

"…Not with you."

Silence.

But not empty.

Full.

The Moment Before Everything Changes

Then—

Elara shifted slightly.

Her brows pulling together.

"…Damian…"

His attention snapped instantly.

"…What is it?"

She exhaled slowly.

"…I think…"

A pause.

"…It's time."

Silence.

One second.

Then—

Everything changed.

End Scene — The Beginning

Some waits feel endless.

Until the moment arrives.

And when it does—

Everything shifts.

Everything becomes real.

And tonight—

They weren't waiting anymore.

They were about to meet him.

To be continued…
