"You are tiny," Charlie grinned, crossing his arms as he leaned casually against the wall like someone who had all the time in the world and intended to use every second of it.
Molly shot forward in front of me with a slight dip of her head, doing her best to block the box from his line of sight. "Beta, what are you doing here?"
He pushed himself off the wall and raised an eyebrow. "I was just passing through when I heard some very suspicious giggling coming from behind that door."
Molly shuffled in place, her body now blocking most of my view of him as she worked hard to shield me, or more accurately, to shield the box. Which was getting heavier by the second, for the record. I adjusted my grip on it with a quiet grunt and hoisted it higher against my chest. How long had I been holding this thing?
"We were just about to go watch a movie," she laughed, the nervousness bleeding through every single word despite her best efforts to contain it.
