I looked around for something to press against my head while I waited and came up empty. Sean was already making his way toward me from across the circle, his long legs eating up the distance in a near jog, weaving around the edges of the ongoing matches to get to me.
"Nova!" He crouched down beside me, eyes wide. "Are you okay? I looked away for one second and turned back to find you covered in blood."
I grimaced. "Not exactly covered in blood."
He sighed and looked around quickly before producing a clean towel. "Here."
He rolled it into a ball and pressed it against the side of my head. I reached up and took it from him with my bloodied hand. "Thanks," I said. "You should get back to the match. There are only three girls left."
He scanned my face with a frown, still crouched beside me. "You sure you are okay?"
I shrugged and gave him a small smile. "Yeah, it is not too bad."
