Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Breaking Point

The dungeon no longer felt like a controlled environment.

It had changed.

The Iron Depths, once structured and predictable, now pulsed with unstable energy, its walls cracking and reforming as if struggling to contain something beyond its limits. The air grew heavier with each passing second, making even breathing feel unnatural.

---

But that information—

No longer mattered.

---

The corrupted Warden stood at the center of the chamber, its form distorted beyond recognition. The floating core pulsed violently, releasing waves of pressure that warped the space around it. The fragments orbiting it no longer moved with structure—they lashed out unpredictably, reacting to everything and nothing at the same time.

Sera steadied herself, her breathing controlled but heavier than before. Her instincts screamed at her to retreat, to create distance, to reset the fight. But the moment she shifted—

The Warden moved.

---

It didn't target Suho.

---

It targeted her.

---

"—!"

The fragments shot forward like blades, tearing through the air with terrifying speed. Sera reacted instantly, firing multiple arrows to intercept, but the sheer force behind the attack shattered her shots mid-air.

Too fast.

Too strong.

---

[ Hunter: Kang Sera ]

[ Lv: 75 (C-Rank) ]

[ Title: Precision Archer ]

[ Primary Skill: Piercing Volley (B-Rank) ]

---

She dodged the first strike.

Then the second.

But the third—

Came from a blind angle.

---

The impact sent her crashing across the ground, her body sliding violently before stopping near one of the cracked pillars. Her bow slipped from her grip, landing just out of reach.

"…Tch—"

She tried to push herself up.

But her body didn't respond immediately.

---

The Warden didn't hesitate.

---

It advanced.

---

Behind them, Jisoo's expression changed for the first time.

---

[ Hunter: Han Jisoo ]

[ Lv: 132 (B-Rank) ]

[ Title: Guild Observer ]

[ Skill: Insight Field (Active) ]

[ Status: Analyzing | Engaging Threshold: Pending ]

---

"…It's targeting weakness," he muttered.

But he didn't move.

Not yet.

---

Back in the chamber—

Sera looked up.

And for the first time—

She realized—

She wouldn't be able to dodge the next one.

---

The Warden raised its arm.

Fragments gathered.

Energy condensed.

---

A killing blow.

---

"…Suho—"

---

He moved.

---

Faster than before.

Faster than control.

---

[ Hunter: Suho ]

[ Lv: 75 (C-Rank) ]

[ Title: None ]

[ Primary Trait: System Administrator (EX-Rank) — Hidden ]

[ Active Skill: Modifier (A-Rank) ]

---

Something shifted.

Not just the system—

Reality.

---

The moment the attack descended—

It stopped.

---

Not slowed.

Not redirected.

---

Stopped.

---

The fragments froze mid-air, suspended unnaturally as if time itself had been interrupted. The energy surrounding them flickered violently, unable to proceed.

---

Sera's eyes widened.

"…What—"

---

Suho stood between her and the Warden.

His expression—

Gone.

---

Not calm.

Not focused.

---

Empty.

---

---

The Warden reacted violently, its entire form distorting as it tried to break free from the control imposed on it. The core pulsed erratically, releasing waves of unstable energy that cracked the ground beneath them.

But it couldn't move.

---

Suho raised his hand slightly.

---

And everything—

Adjusted.

---

The fragments turned.

Not toward Sera.

---

Toward the Warden itself.

---

"…So this is what you've been hiding," Jisoo whispered from the shadows, his eyes locked onto the scene.

---

The fragments struck.

---

All at once.

---

They pierced through the Warden's own structure, tearing into its unstable form and shattering the corrupted layers that held it together. The core flickered violently, cracks spreading across its surface faster than it could regenerate.

---

The dungeon trembled.

---

The system screamed.

---

[ System Error ]

[ Conflict Escalation Detected ]

---

Suho stepped forward.

Slowly.

Deliberately.

---

The Warden tried to respond.

It couldn't.

---

Because this time—

It wasn't fighting a hunter.

---

It was being controlled.

---

"…End," Suho said quietly.

---

The core shattered.

---

The light exploded outward, flooding the chamber before collapsing into nothingness. The Warden's form disintegrated completely, its existence erased as the distortion faded with it.

---

Silence.

---

The dungeon stabilized.

Barely.

---

[ Boss Eliminated ]

[ Dungeon Stabilizing… ]

---

Sera remained on the ground, her breathing uneven as she stared at Suho's back. Her mind struggled to process what she had just witnessed, the gap between what she thought she knew and what she had seen too vast to ignore.

"…That wasn't… a skill," she said softly.

---

Suho didn't respond.

---

Because now—

He felt it.

---

That gaze.

---

Behind him.

---

Jisoo stepped forward.

Slowly.

No longer hiding.

---

"…I see it now," he said.

---

[ Hunter: Han Jisoo ]

[ Lv: 132 (B-Rank) ]

[ Status: Alert | Confirming Anomaly ]

---

His eyes met Suho's.

Sharp.

Certain.

---

"This isn't something a C-Rank should be able to do."

---

The silence that followed—

Was heavier than any battle.

---

Because this time—

There was no misunderstanding.

---

He knew.
