Yara Keats's first instinct was to refuse.
But the next moment, Xavier Lockwood spoke again. "He's right downstairs. Let's go see him together."
Yara Keats paused, glancing down at her phone.
At this hour, Timothy York had probably already left for work. She didn't have anything else to do, so it seemed it didn't matter where she went.
Yara Keats didn't refuse again. She followed Xavier Lockwood into the elevator and down to the underground parking garage.
The moment the elevator doors opened, a medium-sized golden retriever leaped inside, pouncing straight at Xavier Lockwood.
Xavier Lockwood chuckled, reaching out to give it a hug and ruffle its fur. "Miss me? Was the trip okay?"
The last part was directed at the person standing outside the elevator.
The handler outside the elevator smiled and said, "Everything went smoothly. Kimi was very well-behaved and didn't make a fuss the whole way. If Mr. Lockwood confirms everything is alright, then my job is done."
