Seeing her benefactor, Chloe Kendall's eyes curved into happy crescents.
Her eyes crinkled in a smile as she looked at Damian Fairchild, her voice bright and sweet.
"I heard they were selling a thousand-year-old ginseng at the herbal medicine market. My health has never been very good, so my mom insisted on dragging me here to try our luck. But we were a step too late. Someone bought it for a high price."
Damian Fairchild gazed at her pale, unblemished face.
The young woman's lips were pale, and she had a faint air of frailty about her, but her dark peach-blossom eyes were exceptionally clear and bright.
As the old saying goes, the eyes are the windows to the soul.
It had been a long time since Damian Fairchild had seen such clear eyes.
His gaze lingered on Chloe Kendall's eyes for a few seconds before he took out a business card and handed it to her.
"This is my personal assistant's contact information. If you need ginseng, give him a call. I'll have a word with him."
