"Hss..."
Peter tilted his head back and glanced at the Lizard, who was more than twice his height, only to see that Connors was also staring up at Fenris's plump belly.
The moment Fenris slammed into the miniature sun, both of them shuddered at the same time.
"So this is what Fenris really looks like..."
Peter swallowed hard.
No wonder he could crush the Lizard so easily. Even someone as strong as Abomination could not gain the slightest advantage against him.
"Dr. Connors?"
Peter suddenly seemed to discover a whole new world. He looked the now completely different Lizard up and down. "Wait, why do you two look so much alike? Weren't you green before?"
"But you're uglier than Fenris, and your belly isn't as big. I just don't know how much weaker you are..."
"If I had even one-tenth of his strength, I could give you a proper lesson in manners, Peter."
Connors lowered his head and gave Peter a sideways look, then snorted a breath of hot air in irritation.
"Heh."
Once his mask was off, Peter immediately turned bashful. He gave an awkward little laugh and quickly shut his mouth.
"How is that possible?"
At Connors's feet, Doctor Octopus stared wide-eyed at the scene. "How can anyone withstand the heat of thermonuclear fusion?"
"Stay still, Otto!"
Connors reached down and yanked Otto's four thrashing mechanical arms, pinning them firmly in place so they could not move.
"No. Fake. This is all fake..."
Otto felt as though the worldview he had built over half his life was collapsing in that instant.
He struggled beneath Connors's foot, his eyes bulging, his mouth muttering like a madman. "Impossible. Impossible..."
"For someone like Fenris, nothing is impossible."
Tony Stark sighed and looked at Otto with pity.
Among everyone present, he was probably the one who understood Otto best. After all, he had gone through the same thing himself.
Meanwhile, after swallowing Fenris, the miniature sun immediately stopped expanding.
After completely assimilating the magnetic confinement device, it seemed to lose its driving force and simply hovered steadily in place.
A moment passed. The light and heat radiating from it continued to decline. Most of the people present had physical abilities far beyond ordinary humans, and as the temperature dropped, they all quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
"Fenris is doing something inside."
Tony stared anxiously at the calm miniature sun. The tongues of flame spewing from its surface were gradually subsiding with time, but the high temperature and pressure at its core were still not to be underestimated.
"Don't worry. Fenris isn't reckless. If he dared to do this, then he must have some confidence."
Connors spoke with certainty. His trust in Fenris was almost fanatical.
"Hot! It's so hot!"
"Too hasty. Way too hasty. I should've known better than to rush in like that..."
Inside the artificial sun.
This place was nothing like the calm, peaceful sight shown from the outside. On the contrary, because of Fenris's reckless intrusion, the originally stable reaction environment had been completely disrupted.
An incomparably violent nuclear reaction was taking place here, releasing terrifying heat outward at every moment. Under the enveloping pressure, it had silently formed an absolute domain no one could approach.
Even steel thrown into this place would melt into molten iron in an instant.
When Fenris had first arrived here, he only felt as if he had stepped into a hot spring. Comfortable heat spread through his whole body, making him unconsciously curl inward.
At the same time, his atomic reactor began operating at high speed, greedily absorbing the powerful nuclear energy around him.
However, as the temperature climbed higher and higher, Fenris only belatedly realized that something was wrong.
But like a frog being boiled alive, by the time he noticed, it was already too late. The increasingly scorching heat soon surpassed the limits of what Fenris could currently endure. In an instant, a burning agony he had not felt in who knew how long spread across his entire body.
In places Fenris himself could not see, the purple-black skin that possessed abnormal defensive power, skin that ordinary heavy weapons could not damage in the slightest, began melting for the first time.
"Hurts, hurts, hurts!"
It felt like a layer of skin was being peeled off him alive. Fenris could not help but suck in sharp, hissing breaths through his teeth.
But the moment he opened his mouth, an extreme wave of heat surged into his body.
In that instant, searing agony came from both inside and outside his body. The double trauma made every muscle in Fenris's body begin to tremble uncontrollably.
Soon, his skin, muscles, bones, internal organs, and even the atomic furnace hidden deep inside his body began to groan under the unbearable strain.
"Roar!"
Just as everyone in the laboratory was nervously staring at the artificial sun, waves of painful roars faintly came from within it. Everyone's nerves instantly tightened.
"Hahaha, he's done!"
"That kid is finished!"
Doctor Octopus, whose entire body had been tightly bound in spider silk, burst into delighted laughter when he heard the sound. "I knew it!"
"Shut up!"
Peter raised his hand and shot out a lump of webbing, sealing his former teacher's mouth.
"Mr. Stark, Fenris isn't going to be okay, is he?"
Peter moved closer to Tony, whose brow was tightly furrowed, only to see that he no longer looked as certain as before. Tony hesitated, then shook his head.
"Trust him. At least this giant fireball has stabilized now."
"Let's wait a little longer."
At the same time, deep within the library of Kamar-Taj.
Not long ago, Fenris had come here to seek the Ancient One's help, hoping she could use the power of the Time Stone to restore a top-secret file related to the Sentinel Project.
"Master, even after all this time, the aura Fenris left behind during his last evolution still lingers here."
Master Mordo pinched his nose as he stood beside the Eye of Agamotto. Seeing the green light on the sacred artifact grow dim, a trace of pained regret appeared on his face.
"This power is far too strange and overbearing. If it remains here and refuses to disperse, I fear it may have a harmful effect on weaker sorcerers."
"It can temper everyone's will. Personally, I think that makes it a good thing."
A gentle voice sounded. The Ancient One, dressed in a black training outfit, walked unhurriedly to Mordo's side, and the two stood shoulder to shoulder.
"But even the Eye of Agamotto..."
Mordo still wanted to argue.
"Mordo, the Eye of Agamotto is not what matters. The person using the spell matters."
The Ancient One smiled faintly and waved a hand toward the space before them.
The space around the two of them began folding and shifting at extreme speed. In the blink of an eye, a massive laboratory appeared before Mordo's eyes.
Through the Mirror Dimension, Mordo saw a huge fireball burning fiercely in the depths of the laboratory.
Familiar roars kept coming from inside the fireball, making him frown unconsciously. "Master, what is Fenris doing?"
"He is undergoing nirvana."
"Or you could understand it as evolution."
The Ancient One emphasized each word. "An evolution that is vitally important to him."
