Raina's eyes flashed at Rebecca's words. She watched her pay intense attention to the document and her heart leaped while her palms turned sweaty.
"W-what are you doing?" She demanded, her words tumbling over.
Rebecca finally looked up, and she was quick enough to catch the lingering fear in Raina's eyes.
Her lips curved upwards as she placed the file on the desk.
"This contract shouldn't go through."
All the employees turned to Rebecca as if she had grown two heads. They knew what was in the file. They knew what contract was there. They also knew what profits could be made.
But... did they really know or were they as ignorant as Raina?
Or was Raina really ignorant?
Raina's ears perked up instantly, and she regained her arrogant expression. Crossing her arms, she tilted her head and questioned. "Why do you think this—" pointing to the file on the table, "—shouldn't go through."
