Rebecca went completely still while she listened to him speak.
"How is that possible?" She asked, her voice low while her eyes narrowed slightly.
Anderson exhaled deeply.
"It's not impossible." He said heavily, his expression turned grave. "But you don't have to worry, I'll have this investigated."
Rebecca's expression eased slightly.
"I trust you," she said quietly, then added, "I should return to work."
Just as she turned her back, Anderson stopped her.
"Wait!"
She turned to him, her brows furrowed in confusion. "What's wrong?"
"Go on a date ... with me."
Rebecca blinked, feeling stunned. She remained quiet for a few seconds, each second being torturous towards Anderson.
"What do you say?" He asked calmly, but his voice had a certain urge to it.
Then—
She answered. "I will."
After saying this, she practically fled out of the office. Her face had heated up, the redness spreading across her cheeks down to her neck.
