The protagonist of a novel always goes through hardships.
Such hardships come in all sorts of ways.
Sometimes their loved ones are put in danger, creating a stage upon which the protagonist awakens their true powers.
The conflict is used as a story medium to depict how powerful and special the protagonist is.
Kidnapping happens to be one of the many cliche tropes of such hardships, but……
I just hadn’t realized that I would be the one to have to go through this.
I looked around in exasperation.
It seemed to be an old warehouse of some sort.
All of the windows had wooden panels nailed to them, blocking the view.
But once I got quiet, I could hear the sound of birds and crickets chirping.
There aren’t any mountains near the capital, so this must be the middle of a forest somewhere.
I looked around, now adjusted to the darkness, I could see a bunch of weaponry scattered across the floor.
