Chapter #115

I suddenly had a choice to make.
I could choose whether I wanted to go and see Zahid, or if I wanted to run away, and I mulled over the two options endlessly.
I had already been thinking about the fact that if I proceeded with the negotiations and actively tried to stop the war from happening, I would end up meeting him at some point either way, but this was much sooner than I had anticipated.
I had to meet Zahid, look him in his eyes, listen to his voice, and talk face-to-face with him.
‘Can I do it?’
I couldn’t avoid him anymore as I had come to Niaakal with a determined mindset. However, now that the moment was right around the corner, I couldn’t give a straight answer.
Cheryl and Ethan didn’t even attempt to persuade me in a certain direction as they saw that I was full of doubt. They waited, leaving the decision solely up to me and they would go along with whatever I ended up choosing to do. That meant that I had to think it through even harder.
