In a world suffering from severe overpopulation, humanity created a Tower… A colossal structure meant to dispose of those deemed insignificant. The Tower of the Animal Kingdom. Inside the Tower, humans awaken the power of animal vessels—abilities that reflect their instincts, personalities, and inner nature. Some inherit the strength of lions. Others the cunning of wolves. And a few… The power of mythical beasts. Each floor holds brutal trials, deadly rivals, and only one certainty— Only those who survive the climb will earn a single wish at the top.

Chapter 1 - The Animal Kingdom Begins

Ash opened his eyes slowly.

Cold stone pressed against his back.

Above him stretched a vast dark ceiling, barely visible in the dim light. As his vision cleared, he realized he wasn't alone.

Hundreds of people surrounded him.

Some were sitting. Others stood in confused clusters, whispering to each other. Panic lingered in the air like a storm waiting to break.

Ash pushed himself upright, his heart beginning to race.

"Where am I…?"

The words trembled out of dry lips.

"What is this place?" someone whispered.

"Why are there so many people here?"

Panic rippled outward in quiet waves. Strangers turned to strangers, searching for recognition — for comfort — for memory.

There was none.

No childhood recollections.

No family.

No names.

Just awareness. And fear.

A sharp hum vibrated through the chamber.

Light fractured the darkness.

A holographic figure materialized above them — tall, faceless, draped in shifting silver light that moved like liquid frost.

When it spoke, its voice echoed from everywhere at once.

"Greetings, Participants."

The chamber fell silent.

"I am the Ruler."

The title settled heavily over them.

"Welcome… to the Tower of the Animal Kingdom."

Behind the figure, darkness split apart. A colossal tower-like world phased into existence — impossibly tall, its peak vanishing into shadow. It felt like something ancient that had clawed its way out of the earth.

"The place where you will reach heights never seen before."

A pause.

"But first…"

The Ruler's faceless gaze swept over them.

"I am aware of your confusion. You search your minds and find nothing. No childhood. No names. No past."

Murmurs trembled through the crowd.

"That is intentional. Your former lives are irrelevant here."

A boy near the front pressed trembling fingers to his temples. He tried to remember something — anything. A face. A street. A voice.

Nothing answered him.

"You were chosen for one reason alone."

The chamber seemed to tighten.

"Your DNA."

The air grew colder.

"Each of you carries a genetic code that mirrors a specific creature within the animal world."

A faint hum pulsed through the stone floor.

"And because you were insignificant in your former existence — nobodies in an overpopulated world — you were deemed suitable for repurposing."

Gasps broke out.

"You are now participants. Entertainment. Your lives are broadcast to the world you once inhabited."

"Every struggle. Every scream. Every triumph."

Silence swallowed the room.

"You may question the fairness of this."

The Ruler's tone did not change.

"But fairness is a human illusion. And you are no longer fully human."

The tower behind it loomed larger.

"This is the Tower of the Animal Kingdom. One hundred floors. The first among you to reach the hundredth will be granted a single wish."

The word lingered.

"You may wish to return to your former world. You may wish for wealth. Power. Dominion."

A softer note slipped into its voice.

"It will be granted."

Hope — dangerous and fragile — flickered in several eyes.

Then the Ruler extinguished it.

"No one has succeeded."

The weight of that truth crushed the spark instantly.

"There are ten thousand of you within this tower. Some wander the lower floors. A few have reached the thirties. None have surpassed the eightieth."

A sudden scream tore through the chamber.

"AHHH—!"

A man collapsed to his knees, clutching his forearm. Smoke curled from his skin.

"My arm! It burns!"

Others began shouting as well.

Ash felt it next.

Heat.

Then agony.

It spread from his forearm outward like molten metal beneath his skin. He bit back a scream as flesh glowed faintly.

"Oh," the Ruler said calmly. "I almost forgot."

More cries filled the chamber.

The smell of scorched skin thickened the air.

"You will find your mark upon your forearm. The animal whose DNA you carry."

Ash forced himself to look.

Through the pain, a shape formed — dark lines carving themselves into his flesh.

"A lion. A serpent. A polar bear."

A pause.

"Perhaps… an ant."

"Do not resent your form," the Ruler continued. "Every creature possesses strength. Your animal is not random. It is the closest reflection of what you truly are."

Ash stared at his completed mark.

A crow.

His breathing slowly steadied.

A voice suddenly shouted from deeper within the crowd.

"Who do you think you are?! Some kind of god? I'm not playing this sick game—"

The air cracked.

A blinding flash tore through the chamber.

A bolt of lightning descended with surgical precision.

For half a second, the man's skeleton was visible through incandescent light.

Then he was gone.

Smoke drifted upward from a blackened scorch mark on the stone floor.

The silence that followed was suffocating.

Somewhere, someone began sobbing.

"That," the Ruler said evenly, "was a demonstration."

The smell of ozone lingered.

"Refusal to participate results in automatic death."

No one spoke again.

"Within the Kingdom exist merchants, blacksmiths, enchanters, and guards. They are not participants. Harm them, and you will die."

The tower's doors rumbled faintly behind them.

"You may, however, kill each other."

The words dropped like stones.

"You may fight. You may form alliances. You may betray."

A subtle shift passed through the crowd.

Eyes changed.

Measured.

Calculated.

"Conflict sustains the spectacle."

The massive doors at the base of the tower began to glow with dim, golden light.

"I don't want to die…" a girl whispered.

The words were small. Fragile.

The Ruler answered immediately.

"Then win."

The glow intensified.

"There is no time limit. Climb at your own pace. Ascend alone or in groups."

The tower seemed to breathe.

"But understand this: only one wish will be granted. If you stand together at the summit, you must decide which among you speaks it."

The implication hung in the air.

Trust would not survive the final floor.

The Ruler's form began dissolving into drifting shards of light.

"Train your primal abilities."

Ash flexed his fingers. His heartbeat felt different now. Sharper. Louder.

"Adapt."

Behind him, a man with a lion mark smiled.

"Evolve."

The doors groaned as ancient mechanisms unlocked.

"Survive."

The Ruler's final whisper echoed through the chamber like frost creeping across glass.

"You will find this world far more meaningful than the one that discarded you."

With a thunderous crash, the tower doors opened.

Beyond them stretched a vast landscape — forests, cliffs, rivers, mist-shrouded terrain under an unfamiliar sky.

No countdown.

No further instruction.

Just opportunity.

Or slaughter.

For a brief moment, no one moved.

Then someone ran.

And with that…

The Animal Kingdom began.
