Chapter 26 - Kuzas Iavko 06

It was on that very day that all nine of the demons appeared within one of the nine starting regions. A majority of them vanished as quickly as they appeared, with the only ones that stayed present being those that were not themselves fully at the moment or just acting on autopilot for the time being. Though in those cases, they were far away from any settlement, and the only ones affected were those that were unlucky enough to have logged in directly in the same general area as them, thus they were indirectly targeted because they were collateral damage being dealt. What happened to them was not even intentional, as they were so small compared to the demon that they were not even being registered as being harmed by it. This went for even those that vanished as quickly as they appeared, as well as those that did not.

The only exception to this being Kuzas Iavko. As they were not only fully in control of their true demon form, which was the massive kaiju sized dragon that they had become. They were not vanishing from view, as their descent onto the fourth area's starting city was a day that would be marked in infamy, as it started the day of the rule of Kuzas over the entire fourth region of not just Avelon but The Decagon itself. They truly made their presence known by quite literally wiping out the fourth starting area's major city within seconds. They landed on top of where the city hall was located. The place where the players that took on the role of being the leaders for the entire fourth region, not just this one starting area alone, but the entire fourth region. They were the ones who took the role and process of being the leaders for this region. How that worked depended on who claimed the titles first. There was no set way to rule any of the ten areas, and in some areas, the city hall was empty as the title was claimed by someone. However, the claimer would not make themselves known; thus, that entire region was left to its own devices, as it was everyone for themselves, and they only had to follow whatever rules they made up for themselves based on what was part of the system. With all the other settlements in that region being self substained and functioning for better or worse. Then some were run by a single person who held all the power for themselves and ruled like a dictator, while others ruled like monarchs instead.

The fourth region was different in that its rule was one of a true democracy, somehow. Not a representative one where leaders were elected to do the job of governing for them. It was a true democracy where everyone had to vote and decide everything. How that worked out was amazing, as there were only a thousand of them, and they were probably working together the best of anyone within the ten areas. They were also in luck that those who did not and became player focused only on their levels, or bandits only focused on those things. They did not take part in the ruling of the region themselves, as they were too busy just gaining levels to do so. Their vote did count, as not present vote counted as their opinion in the face of not voicing what they wanted. While player killers and bandit killers formed their own version of what the majority of the fourth region's remaining players did.

However, three versions came to an end that very day, which went down as Demon Arrival Day for all the other regions. In the fourth region, however, it became known as KI Day instead, short for Kuzas Iavko Day. As that was the day they made their presence known and their intent loud and clear as well. They landed on the city hall with the power of an atomic bomb and then unleashed their full power all at once, which was equal to that of a hydrogen bomb....repeatedly. Kuzas was not playing around but using the four regions starting area as their test ground for everything and anything they could do at full power without holding anything back or regard for anything or anyone other than themselves.

The true democracy that existed there was so how died that day and was replaced with the iron rule of Kuzas thereafter. It did not end just in Avelon either, as the once they had ensured that they were in control and unchallenged within the game world. They logged out into the world they were being made to call their reality now, as this was basically their real world, they were trapped in now. That was where it was revealed that Kuzas retained all his base maxed out stats here as well. Having revealed himself fully in Avelon, people thought they could at least try taking them down outside the game world, as that might be a better shot than trying to take on the walking doomsday apocalyptic case they were within Avelon itself.

It was a sound idea in theory; however, in practice, it was not nearly as possible. In fact, it might have been worse for the beta tester who tried challenging Beta Tester 83 that day. They were unable to be harmed physically, having physical invulnerability after all. Though there was a catch, as merely having physical invulnerability did not mean that they had pain nullification, as those were two different things after all. Having one does not automatically mean having the other every time as a result of this. The beta testers that attempted to challenge Beta Tester 83 learned this lesson...this vital lesson the hard way. The punching bag they became that day, unable to even truly defend themselves that day, it broke a large number of them that were amongst those that attempted it. As the body was physically invulnerable, but the mind was anything but that. The breaking had various effects on those that were broken, but ranged from those who pledged loyalty to Kuzas to have it to stop. Those that lost their minds completely, and some that were consumed by the desire for revenge that became their own goal and reason for existence, but were never be able to do so because of how they went about in their broken state.
