Chapter 34 - The Princess Trapped in the World of Dreams

Chapter 2: The Sea of Forgotten Tears

After shattering the illusion of the perfect castle, Aurora and Miru walked for what felt like hours. The soft, colorful ground gradually turned into wet, shining sand, and the air became heavy and cold.

Before them stretched an endless ocean. But the water was not blue. It was silver-grey, like liquid moonlight, and it was completely silent.

"This is the Sea of Forgotten Memories," Miru explained, her wings trembling slightly. "Everything that people have forgotten, or chose not to remember, sinks down here. We must cross it, Princess, but be careful what you see in the water."

The Boat of Clouds

There was no bridge. Suddenly, a small boat made of white clouds drifted to the shore. Aurora stepped onto it, and it held her weight as if it were solid wood.

As the boat moved slowly across the silent sea, the water began to clear. Aurora looked down and gasped.

Beneath the surface, she saw faces. She saw old friends she had not thought of in years, she saw places she had visited as a small child, and she saw moments of sadness she had tried to forget.

"Look at me," a voice whispered from the waves. "Remember how happy we were... why did you leave me behind?"

Aurora felt her heart ache. The sadness was so heavy that her eyes grew heavy too. If she cried here, the legends said, her tears would become part of the sea forever, and she would sink down to join the forgotten things.

The Guardian of the Deep

Suddenly, the water churned violently. From the depths rose a gigantic fish. It had the body of a carp, but its head was long like a snake, and it had six strange legs dragging behind it in the water. Its eyes were large and shaped like horse ears, glowing with a pale light.

It was the Rǎn Yí Yú, the ancient guardian of this abyss.

"Who dares to walk upon the memories of the world?" its voice echoed like underwater thunder.

"I am Aurora," the Princess said, standing tall despite her fear. "I am not here to steal or to destroy. I am just trying to find my way home."

The monster swam closer, circling the boat. "Home is where your heart is. If your heart is lost here, you belong to me."

The Power of Sorrow

Aurora looked into its ancient eyes. She realized that this creature was not evil. It was simply holding all the pain that people did not want to carry.

"I will not forget," Aurora said softly. "I will carry my memories, both happy and sad. That is what makes me alive."

She reached out her hand. Even though the creature looked terrifying, she felt its power—it was the power to stay steady, even when everything around you is spinning and confusing.

The Rǎn Yí Yú stopped roaring. It nudged the boat gently with its snake-like head, pushing it forward through the waves.

"Go," it said. "You have accepted the darkness in your heart. Therefore, the darkness cannot swallow you."

The Other Side

They reached the opposite shore safely. Behind them, the Sea of Memories returned to its peaceful silence.

Aurora turned back to look. "Thank you," she whispered.

"Look ahead, Princess," Miru said happily. "Do you see that?"

In the distance, where the sky met the land, there was a huge, dark shape. It looked like a mountain, but it had windows and towers. It was the Castle of Mirrors.

But between them and the castle lay a land of wild, twisted forests, filled with strange shadows moving between the trees.

"We are getting closer," Miru said. "But the next part is the Forest of Fears. There, things you cannot even imagine are waiting. Are you ready to enter?"
