Chapter 35 - The Princess Trapped in the World of Dreams

Chapter 3: The Song That Clears the Fog

After leaving the shore, the air grew cold and thick. A heavy grey fog rolled in, wrapping around the trees like ghostly cloth. The path disappeared under Aurora's feet, and the world became silent and confusing.

"This is the Forest of Lost Direction," Miru said, flying close to Aurora's shoulder. "In here, your mind plays tricks on you. Left becomes right, and up becomes down. If you lose your way, you will walk in circles forever."

Aurora tried to walk straight, but soon she was dizzy. The trees looked like giant monsters reaching for her, and the shadows seemed to whisper: "Give up... you are lost... rest here forever..."

She felt the same dizziness she once felt as a child, the feeling that the world was spinning too fast. She almost fell.

The Melody in the Mist

Suddenly, a sound cut through the fog.

It was not a roar, nor a whisper. It was a long, clear, beautiful note.

Wu-wu-wu... li-li-la...

The sound was so pure that the grey fog actually rippled and moved away from it. Where the sound touched, the air became clear.

"Follow the voice!" Miru cried.

Aurora walked towards the music. Through the mist, she saw a magnificent creature standing on a hill of stones.

It had the body of a strong horse, but its head was white as snow. Its tail was long and fluffy like a tiger's, and its coat was covered in brilliant stripes of black and glowing red.

It was the Lù Shǔ, the Spirit of Song.

The Test of Clarity

The beast turned its white head and looked at Aurora. Its eyes were wise and deep.

"You are lost, little one," it said, its voice sounding like a harp playing. "The fog of confusion covers your eyes. Can you hear the truth?"

"I am afraid," Aurora admitted. "Everything looks the same. I don't know which way is real."

"Then do not look with your eyes," said the Lù Shǔ. "Listen with your heart. Music is the thread that connects all things. If you can sing with me, you will find your balance again."

The Lù Shǔ began to sing a high, clear melody. Aurora took a deep breath and joined in.

At first, her voice was shaky. But as she sang, she felt a strange power flowing into her. The dizziness vanished. Her feet felt as steady as roots. She understood that this creature's power was not just beauty—it was clarity and stability.

The Path Revealed

As their voices blended together, the heavy fog began to lift completely. The twisted trees straightened up, and a golden path appeared on the ground, leading straight towards the center of the world.

"You carry the spirit of the Rǎn Yí Yú to protect you from evil," the Lù Shǔ said gently. "And now you have found the melody to guide your steps. You are ready, Princess."

It lowered its head and allowed Aurora to touch its mane. Then, with a flick of its powerful tiger tail, it vanished into the trees, leaving its song echoing in the air.

Aurora stood on the clear path. She felt stronger now. She was no longer just a sleeping girl; she was becoming a warrior of the dream world.

Ahead, the trees ended, and a vast, open plain appeared. In the middle of the plain stood the Castle of Mirrors. It was made of crystal and glass, shining with a thousand lights. It was beautiful, but it also looked cold and distant.

"We are here," Miru whispered. "But look, Princess! The gates are guarded."

Standing in front of the main entrance was a figure. It was tall and dark, holding a staff made of twisted roots. It was the Keeper of the Gate.

"To enter the castle," the figure said, its voice like grinding stones, "you must answer the riddle. Or face the consequences."
