Returning to the surface after dealing with the war shadow that went down with relative ease, the battle being easier than expected due to its humanoid size and shape making it so that Nero already had experience fighting Aurathia who fought in a similar way
"Humanoid sized monsters are much easier to deal with as I don't have to take the difference in height into account for my attacks" Nero noted as he finally made his way out of the dungeon, the sky having already started to darken
Making his way to the diner he noticed that there seemed to be more noise coming from it than usual, making his way in through the doors a sight he didn't expect to see appeared in front of his eyes
"Aura! what are you wearing" he blurted out
"Oh this, your father had it made for me for when I work here" Aurathia responded, wearing a maid outfit that had a skirt that only reached her knees, having her abs on full show with short sleeves making all of her muscles be on show and a deep neckline that showed off a good amount of her cleavage
"Dad what the hell? you can't just make a goddess wear something like that" Nero shouted at his dad while blushing
"She's working at my diner so I can make her wear whatever I want" declared Garin "plus look how many people it is drawing here" he smiled
"Yeah but they're supposed to be here for the food not for how Aura looks, we're not that type of shop" Nero complained
"It brings in the money and goddess-sama doesn't seem to mind so it's a win-win situation, now get your ass in the kitchen and cook, I'm going to keep an eye on things" Garin stated
"You just don't want to cook" Nero mumbled
"And what if I don't, goddess-sama gave me loads of exercises to do earlier and I'm tired from doing them"
"Sure, you did some exercises, right" Nero replied with a sarcastic tone
"You want me to put you in a headlock again?" Garin threatened
"Are you sure you want to try it now that I'm adventurer?" Nero asked looking up at him
"Both of you stop arguing and start working we have hungry customers" ordered Aurathia from the main room
"Yes ma'am" responded both of them as they got to work, the diner being busy enough to be kept busy but not enough that it was hard to keep up
After the last customer left Garin started counting the money they had made with a smile "we haven't made this much money.... well ever, goddess-sama coming here truely was the start of our lucky break" he celebrated
"You don't know the half of it" Nero thought as he cleaned up the last of the tables "now if you don't mind I'm going to sleep, I had a long day in the dungeon today and I need to rest up for tomorrow"
"First do some stretches with me, it will help you remain flexible and should help you sleep better" Aurathia called out after getting changed
"You two do that, I'm going straight to bed" Garin claimed as he returned to his room
"So how was your day?" Nero asked Aurathia as they started doing some easy stretches and yoga poses
"Pretty good, from now on I'm going to be helping Take in the morning to train fledgling adventurers for a small amount of valis, then I'll be heading to Hephaestus's place to create personalised training plans for her blacksmiths for a decent bit of valis then I'll be coming back here to help out at the diner in the evening" Aurathia answered as she flowed from one pose to another "what about you?"
"Wow, you work quick, I got down to the sixth floor which seems to be my limit for the moment and I've found out that I need to get some more ranged attacks" Nero replied as he moved from pose to pose
"Unfortunately your options are limited, without magic your choices are buying more kunai to use as throwing weapons or use a crossbow, I can teach you how to use a crossbow but I think you should instead focus on keeping to close combat and stay on the floors you can manage until I find someone else to add to the Familia, that way we can assign more roles and be able to fight more types of monsters" Aurathia gave her opinion
"I should be fine, I have plans for long ranged attacks" Nero stated as he finished his stretching
"Something related to that skill of yours I'm guessing"
"Yeah"
"Well if it makes you stronger and doesn't harm you in anyway I'll trust you to keep in your limits, I just hope one day you will tell me everything"
"I will, I did promise you after all"
"Then goodnight Nero" Aurathia smiled as she made her way into her room, having finished her night time exercises
"Goodnight Aura" Nero responded as he got comfortable on the sofa, quickly slipping into unconciousness and the training space materializing around him
Putting up his guard instantly ready for Yumi to strike
"You're learning well" Yumi's voice came from behind him causing him to spin around to face her, only for no one to be there "but you can still improve" her kunai appearing at his throat
"How did you do that?" Nero asked
"A simple case of hiding my presence and then moving as I talk, people will always spin in the direction of their dominant hand to be able to deal with threats the fastest whether that be defending or attacking, as such if I follow the way you turn I can remain out of your sight and catch you off guard" Yumi explained
"You make it sound so simple"
"It is when you've trained as long as me" Yumi smiled "speaking of training we should begin yours"
"Tonight would you be able to train me in how to use ice techniques, I managed to obtain a pair of tessen that seem to respond well to ice type techniques and I have come across some foes that use long ranged attacks so I would like to have some long ranged attacks of my own" Nero said
"Hrm, I suppose I could teach you how to use ice based attacks, I can feel a certain energy coming from you that is similar to what I use to perfrom my techniques" Yumi considered
"It is probably the magic that we have in the world I am from" Nero explained
"Whatever it is it seems like it will work with my techniques so I will show you how to form ice and how to use them in battle" she announced "watch closely" she said as she prepared to demonstrate her abilities
"Thank you Yumi sensei" Nero bowed, his eyes locked on Yumi's form.
