Shanara shifted involuntarily in her seat. Her coolness didn't seem to falter but she was shaking inside.
'Been watching me from afar? What in the world did he see?' I thought.
"You know what, I look up to you. And never did it ever cross my mind that you would stoop so low to be a stalker." I blurted.
Nicholas laughed. Hks masculinity radiating off of him. I had the sudden urge to stare and I slapped myself in my mind. Eww.
"We've been watching you closely, because you seem to be in business, being Asia's top company for five years now, with your different and diverse businesses, it just seemed perfect that we have an arranged marraige." Nicholas stood and walked at the window overlooking the maze gardens." Having you as our ally will grant us a big opportunity to spread our business towards Asia. With your help we will become an empire. And so much more."
" If a business venture was what you wanted all along then why not say so? We can give it to you. Why do we have to get married? ."
"That was the original plan actually. But the longer that I watch you the harder that I fell for you. I want you to be my wife and to be the mother of my children." He said while facing me. The sincerity in his eyes unmistakable.
But I also know that when a person lies daily, their eyes will betray you. You need to look for other signs to catch him.
I slowly nodded my head and crossed my arms.
"I'm really not the marrying type. If you are so inlove with me then wait for me to fall inlove with you. If you want this business so badly I will give it you but_" he cut me before I could finish.
"But I want you beside me, Shanara. I want you to be my wife, the mother of my children, and to be my lifetime companion." I smkked at his last words.
Lifetime companion? Nah.
"I can be beside whenever you want me. You dont even have to run around the world chasing your enemies becaiuse I will be the one to do it and all you have to do is sit down in a throne like a queen." He continued, emotion lacking from his words.
I felt my spine go cold. He knows that I chase mother fuckers? He must really know something about us. But not all.
"What you ask of me is too much. I can do all the others but being your lifetime companion is a bit too much for me specially for who and what you are." I told him while smirking.
I felt the temperature go down for a couple of degrees as he stared at me dumb founded.
I slowly stood up from where I was sitting.
" You don't think that we know your family is a bunch of vampires, do you? " I released some of my energy and enveloped it to him. "You don't think that just because we're humans we are weaklings, do you?
My energy crackled into life and it choked him. He struggled to breath as he couldn't fathom what was happening around him. His mouth opened butno sound came out.
" We know what you are," I said menacingly as I stepped closer to him. "But you don't know who we are. So I suggest that you be careful in what you do, because in one snap, I will kill you. Over and over and over and over until you curse yourself for being ever born." I told him.
I snapped my finger and my energy bubble burst out from him. He gasped mouthful of air as he regained his balance. His eyes red from the lack of oxygen.
" I will marry you, okay. But if I knew that you are planning something sneaky, I won't hesitate to disbangle you, if there's even a thing like that. And I want you to be careful. If one of my family ever gets hurt, you'll dje nonstop, painfully."
He nodded his head vigorously, holding his poor neck.
" I command you to not say a word unless I tell you to. "
Nicholas's head spun and he heard thousands of bells clanging and it maddened him. He reached for a chair to relax and closed his eyed gasping for unknown reasons. He closed his eyes and everything went black.
