"He allied... with the literal bane of existence."
"...You got to admit, he has priorities."
"HIS PRIORITIES SHOULD BE NOT HAVING US DIE!"
Solomon would set up a Numbers of God to box in Alice and Khonum, allowing Shady to intervene once both would set up enough damage to illuminate the dancing lights. Even without being told what it was, both were able to understand its effects. Unlike what it's supposed to do, however, both were quick on casting their Final Gambit through the layer of its barrier, both as a protection against Xibal's rampage, now that it is under the control of Harvard partially, but also to properly test their Book.
"Book Magic: Wonderland...!"
"Book Magic! Book! Of! The! Dead!"
Golden stone and flowers grew outwards, surrounding the two in flora and brick. Nobody can hear what's going on, though faint sounds of lasers and bladework were more than enough to understand it was going to be bloody. Zazel shifted his focus alongside Solomon to deal with Xibal and Harvard, while Harvard made his way across the beast, Taro on route. He'd see the Human Vritra try to throw a hook, but the Card Magician was smart to let him be close to the Calamity of the Ninth as much as possible, not casting any spells or making too sudden movements. Such a punch would end up instead cutting through Xibal's flesh, quickly spewing such lava and melting down his arm as a result. He'd try to swat the magma away, but Zazel was able to sneak ahead and prepare Beleth, letting it copy the same lava so it can be poured on the Vritra's back and left leg, cooking him alive even further. Even if he cannot feel such pain with his Dragon Hide, the damages left behind were more than enough to wear down his defenses and leave him open. Zazel took that advantage once he saw the Hide melted down, but would have his body slammed into Xibal by Deltoro, prompting Solomon to cast Might of Samson and uppercut the construct across the beast's body, coating her in the same magma, letting it melt down the body and scatter such debris into the roof of the cavern. The third body was quick to act once both were out of commission, letting Solomon look over and see her head quickly forming and adopting Deltoro's mask.
"It's an Artifact! There's your answer." Solomon answered bluntly, seeing if Zazel was able to pick it up before he went against the Vritra.
"What kind?!" Zazel asked, as he prepares Sabnock to create a massive cannon aimed for the Dragon's stomach, firing it, letting the cannonball both shoot him up to meet with Harvard and knock the projectile to the side so Taro is forced to reel his arm back if he wants to keep his gauntlet, letting him be nicked across his shoulder as a result.
"I THINK it might be one of those Homunculi bodies. Read a bit how if the body tends to fail on them, some people are willing to do a procedure in transferring their subconscious to fake bodies. It carries their genetics and personality, but it's forced to leave out certain parts like their face and hair. It's like a complicated surgery, only instead of removing the disease, its taking you out of the source."
"That was a thing!?"
"May have also been used in case they're just... bored with their natural body, but I'd rather not think-"
WHAM!!!
Dropkick across the Lava, an immediate intervention by Shady to teleport through such shadows, letting him be forced to ram into the scuffle Axel and the others were having, seeing Bronx quick on using the Core as a new set of bullets, changing his ammo and taking aim to hit the Gambler in the head while he was busy in dealing with the Descendants. Axel did one glance to see the new ammo, surprised to see such a set-up, but even more with what was the choice of Cores he was willing to take in. He's been given a report regarding his match against the 'Gentle Giant', being restricted information by Khonum as to who he was. From a Tea Master such as him, he'd imagine Bronx would've followed his footsteps in taking that direction.
"Lemon Shot..."
Both Deltoro and Solomon were forced to take the hit, perfectly in Axel's way to bodyblock him. When the shot came and pierced through both, it phased through, disintegrating when it connected. Solomon was able to set up a mini-Garden of Eden by using the shadow, then unleashing his book to push Deltoro away and send her flying. The Garden was able to help against the magic's effects, but still lingered a small bit, letting Axel watch as Solomon's face began to pucker, his eyes and nose drifting down to his mouth as he'd struggle to breathe in such acids. It made said eyes slant, but nothing much else. Deltoro, meanwhile, began having her body pucker inside out, her arms and chest shrinking, as if it was being devoured by nothing. Even without arms, the Maze Magic still triggers, now making new ones in its place, carrying the Lemon Shot across it corridors. "It can trigger at ANY attack, huh? Good to know. So long as we do not provide it a magical style, we can simply beat it over the head and kill the caster in response." Bronx's explanation was exactly what Solomon assumed, an idea ringing in the Biblical Sorcerer's mind.
"So, have the big monster punch her really hard." Bronx would be a bit stunned at such a suggestion, looking over to see Solomon was ahead of his own thinking. In that brief second, he'd give a nod.
"Pretty much. Your friend's already lining himself up for it, might as well make the most use before he does anything else with it." He'd prepare another core, taking aim for Xibal's arm, letting it react automatically with the next shot prepared. "Cherry Shot..." Axel noticed Bronx's target and tried to interrupt it, setting up some chips to attach and destabilize the magic style. A fog, however, would roll in, masking both the Sniper, as well as signal the end of the little scuffle they find themselves in.
"Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill shall be made low....."
"The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth...."
"Every field wrought in anguish, for pestilence shall grow...."
"Come, thy Famine...For I have chosen you..."
