Walking home Kieran passed different districts, In this new world residential areas where divided into four different districts and which district one stayed in was determined by the level of their importance. The first district which was the most important district of all it was a place where those with high importance stayed the Superhumans with high level of authority, the second district on the other hand was a place where the rich stayed those who payed for their Superhuman abilities and held some level of authority to some certain extent but where nothing compared to those in the first district, the third district was a place where the average lived those who earned average and had little to none authority, the fourth district on the other hand was a dump where the poorest of the poor lived the fourth district was made up of people who struggled to survive with little hope they where those who were abandoned by the world in this district no one had Superhuman genes and no one could afford the super serum.
Kieran sighed as he walked passed dilapitated buildings and slums the road here was messy and worn, cracks and potholes were rampant everywhere here. He walked down a hill and took a corner to the right heading down a cleared path towards the house at the ending.
At the end of the path there was a modest little house the walls, painted a soft purple, had lost some of their brightness over time, giving the place a tired but gentle look. The roof was simple and gray, showing a few signs of age but still holding strong. The wooden front door looked used but cared for, like someone wipes it down even if they can't fix everything around it.
The small patch of yard in front was a mix of green and dry grass, the kind that grows unevenly when the soil isn't great. A few bushes and small trees surround the house—nothing fancy, just plants that grew where they were put, some a little overgrown, some trying their best to stay alive. They gave the place a quiet sense of resilience.
Even though the house sat in what feels like a poor, overlooked area, there was warmth to it—as if the people who live there didn't have much, but they try their best to make it a home. The whole scene carried a quiet emotion: not hopelessness, but a simple, steady kind of endurance.
Kieran looked at the house as he sighed walking down the path and onto the yard he went to the back and got a rake he began taking the leaves and dried grass after gathering them he packed and disposed of it, he returned the rake to the back and walked into the house through the back door entering onto a passageway at the end of it was the parlour while to the right was the kitchen. Walking towards the ending of the passage way Kieran walked into the parlour to the right there was a door that lead to a separate room and to the left was another passageway that had a door at the end Kieran walked towards the door and opened it walking into his room he dropped his back to the ground and dropped onto the bed relief washing over him.
" Ha, at least that is over "
" No more school for me "
Lying there a while Kieran was lost in thought as he tried to think up what to do next, he stayed like that for so long that he forgot how long he was there for that was until he heard the front door open before he stood up and walked out of the room coming out to the parlour to meet the person who walked in
" Hey Aunt Sarah how was work " Kieran said as he walked up to her took the bag of groceries from her. Sarah Kieran's aunt was a woman with black short hair and brown eyes she stood at a height of 5'4 she wasn't slim but she wasn't fat.
" Hectic as usual, what about you, how was school " she asked as they both headed towards the kitchen
" Usual thank God it was my last day " he replied dropping the bag onto the counter
" Aww last day of school for my baby hope you at least enjoyed your last day of school " she said as she squeezed his cheeks with a smile.
" Yep, got hit in the head with a basketball and was flung hard onto the concrete ground so yeah did enjoy it " Kieran said
" No they didn't " she said as she turned his back to face her inspecting the back of his head with adapt attention
" it okay nothing is wrong with me I didn't get wounded " he said trying to reduce her worries
" Ha, I'm sorry " she said with a sad frown
" It ain't your fault aunt, people with super genes are jerks that's just how it is "
"That they are but still it doesn'tchange the fact that you don't deserve this and sorry that it still happens " she replied
" So what would you do next now that you've just finished school " she asked
" That still stumps me I honestly don't know any ideas "
" You are asking me what you're going to do with your life Haha you will figure it out eventually " Sarah said as they both prepared dinner Kieran diced and sliced while Sarah boiled and stirred
