She decides to check room by room for anything fun or important before going back down without a trace. When Flower takes a step forward, something pops in Flower's mind. In it Sally is looking at her with anger while they are both by themselves.
"When Miss Cindy leaves, it's for something important and you have to follow what she says. You sneaking off during the RS tour was very disrespectful and weird. Don't do it again." Sally says glaring. The image fades and Flower realizes it's a memory. She didn't know she could remember what happened during her time unconscious. Choosing to worry about this later, the girl continues forward. This place is eerily empty. Even though she can hear noises all over, this place doesn't have anyone. Is her gut trying to warn her of something? She enters the first room. Plain white walls with a large wooden desk and a computer fill the room. This room looks tiny and unused. Room after room, Flower enters and finds empty. Isn't there supposed to be tons of people here? The rooms are all tiny and as Flower goes around she realizes why. The rooms only have desks and nothing else and the small rooms help people close out the world and focus on their work. That is a very interesting way to treat your employees, but what does Flower know about business? With nobody around, Flower loses her nervousness and carefulness. The loud noises of students practicing their speeches stops registering in her ears as her brain blocks it out. Her steps are loud and she walks comfortably down to each room. They are all identical and Flower starts getting bored. Just when the thought of leaving pops up in her mind, she comes to the end of the hallway. There is a pathway left and right, the left looks to be the same as the first hallway she came through but instead she hears noises. The workers are here and maybe those other rooms are extras or there aren't enough workers for them. The right hallway however looks grand with high ceilings and walls. Right next to the entrance there is a large room with a wooden and glass door. In there stands a large desk with many papers scattered all over the desk. There is a chair with wheels behind the desk and two chairs in front of it. There are several paintings on the wall and everything here seems to be used, which to Flower is a good sign. Since no one is in the room, Flower begins to look around and in the drawers. The papers on top of the desk are a ton of graphs on how business is going. Another is graphing the probability of people succeeding in this industry. In short, a bunch of things Flower doesn't want to know. She looks in the drawers and finds more papers and folders organized by alphabetical order. The girl pulls one out, she finds what she assumes to be a code for something. It has the same writing her computer has whenever she does something wrong with it. Line after line of codes come up and Flower decides it's too important and puts it back. It could be a code for door security of some sort, or anything really, that she shouldn't be touching. She closes the drawer and opens another one that turns out to be the same thing. Drawer after drawer, she finds nothing but work, even though she is sure they have something on her. Again, Flower can tell that Adam does not quite fit in like the rest of the workers, so she knows if she wants to find out the "they" that she refers to, that she'll have to go sneaking around. She has to find something. There are several more cabinets that are separate from the desk. She checks the little cabinets and when she comes to the last one, Flower gives up hope. She checked everything, but there is simply nothing. Maybe she is wrong and the people helping her are just kind people that didn't want her to live in an orphanage. But then again, how did they get to know her? Maybe they are her parents' friends. Flower smiles just thinking about that. Even after you were unfairly sent to jail, you still look after me. Thank you. Flower is satisfied with this answer and it makes her feel good. When she goes to close the desk drawer, it comes back and won't close. Flower tries again and again to close it and knows that there is something blocking it. The problem is she can't see the item that is stopping it from closing. If anyone comes in after the girl, they'll know someone was here. Flower's thoughts completely break down when out of all the noise Flower didn't realize she is hearing, one grows louder and comes her way, with the drawers still open and stuck. Flower tries to make it seem closed as closely as she can before hiding under the large desk, all the way at the corner. Footsteps soundly loudly and through a hidden hole at the bottom of the desk, Flower sees two men step in.
"The sales are going up for your stocks in the Baha organization. How much are we paying them for this?"
"That is none of your concern." comes a cold harsh voice.
"The Alaist Cane needs to thrive. Thomas is very held up on that. We have to advertise this business although the problem is that he has the dumbest ideas and wastes all the money we give him in investing stupidly without reason."
"He doesn't understand this at all." says the assistant.
"However we bought stocks from his company and he still doesn't know it is us. What does that do for us? Couldn't we have bought it with his knowledge." Through a small hole in her desk, Flower eyes the men. A tall well built man with black hair and a very expensive looking suit is smiling dangerously. It is like Xavier's smile, but somehow worse. The thing Flower is focusing on is his eyes. They are gray just like hers. She hasn't seen a lot of people with that eye color because it is rare. It somehow annoys the girl that she has the same eye color as a wealthy businessman. Next to him, a shorter man stands with a dozen papers pulled to his chest. The man wears a silky shirt with black pants. He has brown hair and green eyes.
"Ahhh Brayan. You still have a lot to learn from me. Everyone but Thomas and his family knows about me investing in Alaist Cane. Even the Mel family knows what we did. This will cause everyone to buy from him, pleasing Thomas, while we slowly take over his business and little by little throw him off his imaginary throne." Brayan smilies trying to copy the other man's wicked smile but fails. Terribly. He looks like a clown, but Flower decides not to judge because she is literally hiding under the desk for her life. Another man comes in. He looks to be a high ranking assistant, but he clearly knows all the important people here because the boss smiles at him when he enters.
"Nathan, so nice to meet you. Brayan, you can leave now. Go check on our new product and see how it is going. Also, go tell Ky to find a large quantity of workers with quality work. We need to make things quickly and we can't work with 20-30 men. Call him over here." Ky? She's heard of that name. Who was it? It's like she can't remember anything she wants anymore. After Brayan leaves it is just Nathan and the other man. The room seems dark with these two and Flower instantly knows they are not just businessmen.
