π "We're back again, aren't we? Another day, another handful of truths from the Sea that never ends β the Sea of Fragments."
π¬ "You paid your 2k Cores, so sit tight. This one's for the Players who like to know how the stage itself works, not just how to act on it."
π Q: Reciters control the Storyline for Players to journey through, but what about Fragments with no Reciters?
π That's a very good question β and one most Players don't even think to ask. Since Reciters are the ones who manage Fragments β from assigning rewards to shaping diverging paths β what happens when there isn't one? π€
π As we all know, what we've discovered from the Sea of Fragments is maybe 5%, probably even less. One of our greatest explorers, the [Traveler], keeps expanding that number, finding new Fragments and marking them for the Blue Trade Records. πΊοΈ
But how does he play through Fragments that have no Reciters?
π‘ Simple β those Fragments are managed and Recited directly by the All Seeing Eye itself. ποΈβπ¨οΈ
We don't know much about the Eye. Our only real link to it is through the Editors β and one of the Council of Eight, [Editor X], is my main source on the Story System's inner functions. I once asked why the Eye doesn't just open all Fragments for us, or at least tell us which ones are most important.
He told me this:
"The All Seeing Eye wants you to discover them yourselves. The Reciters aren't the only ones reciting β it's reciting the Story of you discovering them."
π€ Q: Are NPCs actually A.I.?
Yes β they are. They're AIs created by the All Seeing Eye and managed by each Fragment's Reciter. πΎ
They're copies of real people β the original inhabitants of that Fragment β simulated and placed inside the virtual Storyline for Players to meet. π So when you talk to an NPC, you're really interacting with a memory made real. You could even find that person in the Story Worldβ¦ if they're still alive. πͺ
π§ββοΈ Q: Are Reciter Avatars AIs too?
β Yes again. Since there aren't many Reciters but countless Fragments, the Story System allows Reciters to create AI replicas of themselves. These replicas act as their stand-ins β reciting, managing, and maintaining Fragments while the original focuses on their best works.
Think of it like a playwright with thousands of theaters β each stage run by their own holographic double. π
πͺ Q: What are Echoes?
Echoes are AI copies of former Players β shadows of those who once left their mark. π Sometimes a Reciter is impressed enough to request a copy of a Player's data, using them again in future runs of the Storyline.
You might face them as an enemy, find them as a guide, or fall in love with them β all depending on what the Reciter needs. β€οΈβπ₯
In short:
"Echoes are Stories of Players who were too good to be forgotten."
π¬ "That's all for today's dive. The sea's still endless, and I've only got two hands to scoop the truth."
π Subscribe to the Blue Trade Records for early access to my next entry β I'm thinking we talk about the 'All Seeing Eye' in more detail next time.
π Until thenβ¦ keep your Stories yours. β [Blue Archivist].
