Weiss stopped at a food stall to buy some grilled meat and then continued her wandering. She was trying to give off the impression that at this moment, she had let her guard down and was being a bit careless.
While eating the grilled meat, she walked into a dark back alley. Weiss made it seemed that she was distracted by the taste of the grilled meat in her hands and had mistakenly came to this back alley. So after realising, she turned around in order to get out of there.
But as soon as she did so, suddenly, the figure of a burly man appeared before him. This was the same man who vile intentions Weiss was able to sense.
Just as Weiss had guessed from his aura, he was a high level knight and from all the scars on his body and his solid form, it looked like he was also an experienced fighter.
He was holding a short spear in his hands and was blocking Weiss's way from getting out of this back alley.
Even though Weiss had sensed his presence a long time ago, she still tried to act a bit surprised with this man's sudden appearance.
But she failed in this task spectacularly because, with her emotionless face, it was actually hard for her to even make fake emotions.
Fortunately for Weiss, it looked like this man did not care about her reaction at all. Instead he was looking all over her with a keen eye and was checking out her body thoroughly. This was not a pleasant sensation but at the same time, Weiss did not care about it at all.
After the man was done checking her out, he smiled and said -
"Hey, that guard bastard was not wrong about you. If you grow up a little, you will definitely be a world class beauty. Then it will not matter if we use you in our brothels as a top class prostitute or just sell you off for a large sum of money to a noble or a merchant. We are sure to make huge profits."
This man's name was Ganz and he was a member of the Shadeshifter company.
This company acted as a luxurious shop selling beauty products at the outside but actuality in the shadows, it was a dark organisation with slave trading as its main business. They also had a few brothels in the red light district of the city.
This dark Organisation was not as strong as the Night Crow that Karl was a part of but they had two official knights in their ranks and they also had very close connections to quite a few noble families. So they could be considered as a strong organisation.
For an organisation like that, someone like Weiss was a great catch. They could take their time to train her and then when she came of age, they could use her in many ways to make a lot of money.
Ganz was actually one of the high ranking members of this place. But still he was sent to capture just this little girl. So it was clear that how much importance the Shadeshifter company gave to Weiss.
...
After making sure with his own eyes that the catch before him was truly very valuable, Ganz was in no mood to waste any time. So he immediately took action and attacked Weiss.
His plan was to quickly knock her out and then take her away from here before anyone could sense what was happening here.
Even though the Shadeshifters had a lot of connections with the higher ups of the city, it was actually better if they did not need to depend on these connections too much. Because the cost of using them was not low.
Ganz had expected to be able to knock the little girl out very easily with the back of his spear, but as soon as he got closer, Weiss dodge his attack and then knocked him out in a split second by using life force for a very brief period of time.
Even before Ganz could realise what was happening, he lost his consciousness. Then it was Weiss who carried his large body and disappeared from the dark alley.
While carrying Ganz, Weiss used her self made Fleet Footed Steps to make sure that she was not detected by anyone. Then she bought Ganz in an even more remote alley.
Then Weiss used her powerful senses to make sure that there was no human presence anywhere near her location and only then she was ready to start her interrogation.
Weiss had not brought her sword with her during this outing as a sword like that would have looked out of place on a little girl like Weiss.
But obviously Weiss would not just come out without any weapons on her so she did have a sharp and sturdy dagger hidden with her.
This dagger would be more than enough for Weiss to interrogate this man. After someone as stubborn as a peak knight apprentice level bandit leader had broken down before her methods, Weiss's confident in her techniques had increased by a lot.
And just as she had hoped and expected, it did not take too much time for even this man to break before Weiss's torture. She actually did not even need to do much.
Weiss just pulled out all his nails and broke six of his fingers. Then when she started to threaten the man that she was going to slowly cut his manhood in small pieces, this large burly man wetted his pants and with snort and tears running down his face, told Weiss everything that she asked.
Weiss asked him about his organisation, the reason for targeting her, the strength of his organisation etc. After knowing all the answers, she started to come up with a plan.
With her strength as a mid level knight, even destroying this whole Shadeshifter company would not be impossible for her. But just destroying them would not give Weiss any benefit except for maybe a little sense of revenge that she did not really care about and some scraps of money that she did care about.
That was why, Weiss wanted to end this situation in such a way that the Shadeshifters would be gone and at the same time, she had also managed to get a lot of benefits from their destruction.
As for how she was going to accomplish that, Weiss already had an idea. She just needed to get a bit more information about the other dark organisations of this city before coming up with the complete plan.
For this, Weiss could only depend on Karl and the information that he was gathering. So she decided to return to the inn and met up with him first.
But before doing that, Weiss needed to take care of a problem. And that was the sobbing man before her. Weiss could not just kill him off as that would alert the leaders of the Shadeshifter which would be troublesome.
As for making this man to obey her and act as a double agent, that was not impossible. With how fearful of Weiss he currently was, it was not impossible for him to obey her.
But doing so would be very dangerous. If this man changed his mind after feeling that he was safe with the two knights of the Shadeshifters, then he could very well betray her. So making him a double agent would be a risky gamble.
So what was Weiss going to do about this situation ?
