getting up from my chair, i walked to the stage taking the trophy from the MC i smiled looking at the crowd, gazing at veronica she was seething, her hatred and anger spilled like hot tea but my revenge will burn more, this is not the only thing I'm taking from you veronica just watch me as i take everything from you and make you wish you never met me, my eyes turned to Alec he looked confused, guess he wanted explanations just like the rest of the crowd but i wasn't going to explain, i owe no one an explanation. "I'm grateful for the honor of receiving this award, thank you for your support" saying that i came down the stage.
i felt everyone's eyes on me as i walked down the stairs, i walked to my seat next to Alec, soon the event came to an end people were leaving, some people congratulated me for the award, other people whispered of how they thought i didn't deserve it, that was the least of my problems they could talk as much as they want
"shall we?" Alec asked, he was asking me if i was ready to go, i nodded all i wanted to do now was go home and sleep, it was a really fulfilling night, walking towards the exit someone stopped us "miss Millie" Javier called, i turned with a smile "how can i help you" i said impatiently, with the smile on my face, veronica walked beside him she was trying to cover up her anger but i could see right through it.
"congratulations on your award, i had no idea you owned a company why haven't we heard of it up until now" veronica said to me with a smile that didn't reach her eyes, i smiled back at her she was implying that my company was so insignificant that no one heard about it "maybe if you knew more about what happens in business you would have heard about it" i retorted, veronica's lips clamped shut she wanted to retort but she couldn't back up her own incompetence
looking at Javier, there was a look of regret in his eyes but I'm pretty sure it wasn't directed to me "since there's nothing else for you to say, Alec shall we leave" i said looking at him, he nodded and we walked out of the event hall and were on our way home.
the ride was quiet, i was on my phone while Alec stared out the window, i knew the question was gnawing at Alec but he didn't want to ask, glancing at him i sighed, i didn't want to say this "just ask the question"
"no its fine" Alec said his face still turned to the window, cocking my head to side i knew he was somewhat mad at me for not telling him, but i didn't see the need to "you sure?" i asked, sighing Alec turned to me "i understand that you have your own agenda and there's a lot i still don't know about you but i wont force you to tell me, you would have if you wanted to" saying that he faced back to the window.
he was right but why do i feel guilty, i did tell him i didn't need him and wanted to never see him again but why do i feel bad for not telling him this information, shrugging i went back to what i was doing on my phone. the ride to my villa was quiet, getting there he walked out and opened the door for me, taking my hand i stepped out "thank you Alec for everything" i said
"its my pleasure" he said with a smile that didn't look happy, pausing i looked down, looking up at him i finally decided to say it "now that the event is over, i wish for you to not come see me anymore please" saying that i walked into the villa my heart clenched, why did i feel hurt. i wasn't supposed to get attached to him, i have to go through journey on my own.
watching her walk into the villa, Alec got back into the car, he felt hollow, he didn't know what to think anymore "are you okay Alec?" Jayden asked from the front seat "just drive Jayden" Alec said, resting his head on the headrest of the car. he needed to clear his head. his mind went back to the words she said, he wanted to listen to her but he just couldn't the last time he left her alone he almost lost her but he felt the more he stayed by her side the more she wanted to runaway from him, and he cant loose her a second time.
