"I want to protect myself," thought Amir, remembering the figure of the Imperial Inquisitor.
"Is that all?" Obi-Wan asked again.
Amir could have responded with something about protecting others or seeking knowledge, which would have aligned more with the light side. Instead, he voiced his most direct desire: "I also want to prevent things from happening that I don't want to happen and protect the things I care about."
"Oh, that answer reminds me of an old friend." Obi-Wan stood up.
"I'm not a good teacher, but I can sense that you will be an outstanding student." He stroked his beard. "What is your name?"
"Amir."
"All right, Amir. I will show you everything I know about the light side of the Force." He paused. "You have already seen the dark side. Remember, never underestimate it, but don't fear it either."
Amir smiled, his nervous heart settling down a little.
"Then what should I call you, Master?"
"Ben Kenobi... whatever you like. Now, let me see what you can do."
. . .
"Are you sure this is the place, Chewbacca?" Lango asked, looking at the wall in front of him.
"Roar!"
Lango listened carefully, trying to understand the roar. He had taught himself Wookiee; otherwise, communicating with this furry creature would be too difficult.
"You said this is where it is on the map?" Lango grabbed the map and looked at it.
The lines twisted and spread out, and finally, he found his current location.
"Two years ago, there was a small path leading inside here, but now it's a wall." Lango reached out and touched the obstacle in front of him.
Inch by inch, he felt his way along until finally, his fingers sensed something different.
"Click!" A smooth section of the wall suddenly gave way.
"Roar!!!"
A gap appeared on the path beside him, revealing an underground passage.
"This must be the place."
Lango turned on his flashlight and walked inside.
The passage was dark, with no lighting, and wide enough to push through a standard cargo box.
"Do you hear anything?" Lango asked. His skin gradually turned darker as he blended into the surroundings.
"Roar~" A faint growl echoed.
"Keep going forward."
The endless passageway was filled only with the sound of their footsteps.
As they ventured deeper, Lango faintly heard a distant, hoarse, low sound.
He turned to look at Chewbacca, who nodded at him.
"Keep going!" Lango made up his mind. He had spent the entire day searching the port for this place. He couldn't give up now because of fear.
The two continued forward. Suddenly, Lango pricked up his ears. Footsteps! There were three sets of them!
. . .
At the same time, Veronica arrived on a warship where Ahsoka led her to a room.
"You'll rest in this room from now on. If you need anything, just let me know. I'll be right across the hall," Ahsoka said.
Veronica looked at her new room—a single bed, a small desk, and a storage cabinet—and felt excited about her new life.
However, she still missed the soft bed on the Traveler. Poor Amir!
Veronica put down her luggage and walked out to the command cabin, where Ahsoka was looking at the holographic star map. She was searching constantly.
"What are you looking for?" Veronica asked.
"Oh, nothing. Just looking around," Ahsoka smiled. "You know that holographic recorder Amir brought, right?"
"Yes, we stole it together."
"It contains records of many hidden Republic facilities, abandoned factories, ancient temples, and other strange places, including a Mandalorian camp."
"I thought we'd never find it, but it ended up in our hands."
"Even though we don't have an organized group yet and are just a few of us, we'll have more companions in the future. When the warships can't hold all of us, we can use the recorder to find a hidden place and make it our base."
Ahsoka examined the holographic recorder.
"Why are you fighting against the Empire?" Veronica asked the girl, who was much older than her.
"Why?" Ahsoka thought. "I've thought of many reasons before—for revenge or something else—but now, I just want to save as many people as possible who are oppressed by the Empire."
"And you?"
"Me?" Veronica fell silent. A deep memory surged up like a wave but then turned into a whirlpool, spinning wildly.
"I don't know," she said.
Ahsoka curled the corners of her mouth upward and said to the redheaded girl, "You'll find out!"
"I hope so."
. . .
Kaiyin listened to the conversations around him at the bar. As a high-achieving student, he could understand the languages of the most common races.
He wore a cowboy hat and had a full beard, which made him look older.
"Hey, new here?" A Trandoshan sat down next to him, his lizard-like eyes scanning Kaiyin up and down.
Kaiyin didn't respond.
"Being a bounty hunter isn't easy. Look around you. Every now and then, a few familiar faces disappear."
"Especially those who work alone. They always disappear without a trace."
Kaiyin glanced at him helplessly. "What do you want?"
"Hehe, you must have heard of my boss." The Trandoshan leaned in and whispered a name.
"Wow." Kaiyin appropriately expressed his surprise before continuing to drink his beverage.
Seeing Kaiyin's surprise, the lizard-man waited for more, but received no response. The atmosphere grew awkward for a moment.
He knew this young man wasn't easily fooled.
"There's a big job coming up. The pay is great, but we're short on people, which is why we're looking for someone like you." He said.
"What kind of job?" Kaiyin asked. He had left home with nothing and didn't have a penny to his name. He had to earn some bounty, otherwise he couldn't dismantle an Imperial spaceship and sell it for parts.
"Come over here." The lizard man stood up.
. . .
Amir sat cross-legged on the sand dunes, with a large rock as tall as a person floating steadily in the sky beside him.
"Why not practice on that high ground?" he asked.
"Why go there?" Obi-Wan was confused.
