"Konoha genin... are they really this strong?"
Fumihaga stared at the bodies of his fallen comrades, his worldview shaken. He looked around; the genin who had so easily defeated them had vanished without a trace.
"Whew!"
Three kilometers away, on a deserted street, Uchiha Kouki arrived using the Flying Thunder God Technique, immediately gasping for breath.
The intense barrage of attacks had been taxing, even with a Military ration pill consumed mid-battle. The fact that he hadn't killed them all highlighted his current chakra limitations.
"Can't eat too many Military ration pill consecutively. I've had enough fun. Time to lay low," Uchiha Kouki decided, silently returning to his room via the Flying Thunder God Technique.
He would no longer interfere in Konoha's affairs, choosing to observe. Even if Iwagakure destroyed Konoha, it wouldn't affect him.
However, realistically, Iwagakure couldn't destroy Konoha; Konoha would eventually repel them. It was simply a matter of time.
Uchiha Kouki's assessment proved correct.
When Sarutobi Hiruzen realized Iwagakure's deception, he immediately sent word to the battlefield. Minato Namikaze arrived using the Flying Thunder God Technique, followed by Shisui, the Ino-Shika-Cho clan leaders, and others.
Iwagakure's invasion ended in failure. Ōnoki and the Iwagakure elite fled Konoha. The Iwagakure forces in the Land of Grass also retreated.
The news sent Konoha into a wave of exhilaration. Iwagakure had invested so much, pushing their forces into the Land of Grass. Their complete retreat meant the war was ending, with Konoha victorious!
Ninjas and civilians alike were in high spirits; the atmosphere in Konoha was incredibly festive.
Uchiha Kouki remained unaffected. Firstly, he had only recently been reborn and felt little connection to Konoha. Secondly, as a time traveler, he knew that after the war with Iwagakure, Kirigakure would be waiting.

Hokage Building.
The Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen; senior advisors Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado; Uchiha Fugaku; and the Ino-Shika-Cho clan leaders were all present. Naturally, Danzo Shimura was also there.
"Iwagakure's forces have completely retreated, with no further activity," Nara Shikaku reported to Hiruzen.
"Our intelligence indicates Iwagakure's resources are severely depleted, and the Land of Earth is highly dissatisfied, no longer supporting the war," Shikaku continued.
"Our spies in Iwagakure report a strong movement for a ceasefire."
"Barring unforeseen circumstances, Iwagakure should soon request peace negotiations."
Everyone in the office was invigorated by Shikaku's report.
"Now more than ever, we must not be complacent. Shikaku, continue closely monitoring Iwagakure's movements. Until a peace treaty is signed, we cannot relax," Hiruzen stated calmly.
Nara Shikaku and the others nodded in agreement.
After discussing other matters, they dispersed.
Hiruzen remained alone. He took a few puffs from his pipe, then walked to the balcony. "Someone!"
An Anbu shinobi instantly appeared, kneeling. "Hokage-sama!"
"I want you to secretly investigate whether Konoha has any hidden high-level shinobi, at least elite jonin-level," Hiruzen instructed.
That day, Konoha's elite were at the front. Aside from Orochimaru and Danzo, there were no other high-level shinobi in the village. But Hiruzen knew it wasn't them; even if they had acted, they couldn't have left Ōnoki so thoroughly defeated. Someone else was responsible.

Following Ōnoki's failed invasion, a temporary calm settled over Konoha.
Uchiha Kouki continued his work at the Konoha Military Police, using his position to check in at various special locations in the village.
"System, check-in!"
That day, patrolling outside the Konoha Archives, Uchiha Kouki stopped and checked in.
"Ding! Congratulations, host! Check-in successful. Reward: Multi-Shadow Clone Technique!"
The Multi-Shadow Clone Technique was indeed a powerful jutsu, but unfortunately, it wasn't for everyone. With Uchiha Kouki's current chakra levels, he could probably only maintain two clones. It was clearly designed for someone with Naruto's constitution.
"This will only be useful if I get the Sage Body later; otherwise, it's just for show," Uchiha Kouki mused, continuing his patrol.
After finishing his work, he went to the training grounds, as usual, to train taijutsu with Might Guy.
And so, his daily routine of work, check-ins, and training continued. Half a year passed in the blink of an eye.
