After having coffee with Hasef and his elders, I was led back to my tent. It was with the expectation that at the next sunrise, I would start my training.
I spent the rest of the day talking with the twins and relaxing—something I haven't really done in days.
"What did you guys do for fun back in your settlement?" I asked them as I sat, and I showed them a game of tic-tac-toe using a piece of charcoal from the fire and a wide, flat stone.
"There were only a few children back in our tribe, but we ran a lot, and sometimes the cobbler would help us to make a ball to kick around," Ayesha answered.
It was clear that their tribe was the least prosperous of the cavern tribes.
"Ok, I have lots of games to teach you then!" I said.
"Yay!" Abu said happily. Too full of energy to sit still, he flitted between his sister and me to see the game from both perspectives.
"I won! Think before you make your choices, Ayesha. Try to think two steps ahead."
"My turn, my turn!" Abu jumped in.
