Chapter 18 - Satoru the Sword Warrior

"Really? Can he really make me a professional?" Kai asked, his left eyebrow quirked, expecting a decent answer from the princess.

"Yes, Satoru is a well-experienced guy. Almost everyone knows him as a sword warrior!" she certainly replied, getting Kai's heart thudding in happiness.

"Wow, I can't wait to train under his guidance!" 'I wonder if it's a good idea?' He silently said, his mind thinking whether it was a good idea or not.

"That's good to hear from you!" the princess added.

'[Yeah, almost. I can't believe that a scared guy like you can really train in swordsmanship!]' Seraphina's voice boomed, piercing Kai's mind, as she mocked him.

'Just shut up, will you? By the way, I don't want to hear your voice, got it?' He silently yelled, his eyes blazing with rage, anger issues piercing through the smile that was on his face as he warned.

'[Yes Master!]'

'Wow, I feel like a big man when you call me that!

'[…..]'

'Seraphina?'

'[….]' Seraphina gasped the warning and kept quiet, but her master wanted to chat even though he warned her about uttering a single word.

'Wow, she's mad, okay, I'm mad too!'

"So when am I going to start?" he then asked the crowned princess Sonia.

"Anytime, and we not only you?"

"Huh?"

"Yes, I want to train too. My father appointed him to train me, but I denied, so now with you, we can groove." she said, her hands showing the grooving she meant as she danced a bit.

"Ohh, that's understandable, understandable? Wait, are you saying you are joining because of me?" A question rose up from Kai's mind.

"Almost!"

"Huh?"

"Yes, I can't really say because of you. It's my own choice; I'm ready now."

"Ohh, okay, you are ready. Won't it raise questions from your parents or others?" the concerned Kai asked, his heart racing around.

"Who cares?!"

"I do!"

"What?"

"Yes, I hate it when people talk about me in corners."

"Alright, don't worry about that; nobody will bother you. You are my bodyguard."

"Really, I had you saying that I'm your first bodyguard in forever!"

"Yes, you are, just that….."

"And questions will be raised. You didn't want to have one; when I popped up, you chose me, and now because of me, you will be training swordsmanship."

"It's not because of you!" she clarified, her eyes sending a warning glance at Kai.

"In your mind, it's not!" Kai sighed, trying to erase all silly thoughts he was having.

"Ohh, yeah!"

The walk continued; the princess couldn't wait to talk to Satoru about training. But her mind was racing, trying to figure out what to do: either train and strengthen her magic powers or train swordsmanship.

'Being a mage is something, and training swordsmanship can be cool too, so which one?'

Her left hand was holding her chin, trying to get the right answer. Her eyes were lost but her feet moving like a car with no driver.

Kai's heart was filled with mischief; every thud was resonating with his happiness. His smile was lit up, his lips curled up, a legendary smile glowing on his lips.

'I can be a professional!' He silently said, his mind racing, happy for the way he will be. He didn't know what kind of a guy Satoru was, and he never thought about it; he was only happy to receive the title of being a swordsman.

He felt like joining the running kids that were running, racing all over the place. Jumping to the sky was going to be done if it was nearby, so it was a bummer, but his happiness didn't fade.

The princess was still lost in thoughts with no words from her. She didn't even see Akirion punching the comfy thin air in happiness.

" I've finally made up my mind, I'll take you to Satoru, as for me, I guess it'll be better if I live with the title of a mage." the princess said, as she finalized her thoughts.

"Huh?" It landed as a shock to Kai, since he wasn't expecting anything like that.

"Yes, I need to train my magic powers; maybe I can find the other you."

"Another me?" A beat of jealousy was played by his heart as his mind raced to the point where she got him.

"Yes!" she paused, her eyes glued to Kai, trying to see his funny reaction. She continued as she saw his face looking as if he wanted to cry, as jealously hit him. "Just joking, you should have seen your face; you looked as if you saw a ghost. Hahaha?" She boomed with a laugh as she mockingly laughed, her white teeth sparkling in the light of the day.

The two continued their walk, Kai's happiness never ended, mostly, it continued. He even asked when they were going to visit Satoru.

"We are going there now, and I'll be observing you. I wish to see how you train."

"What, really? Okay, if you want, as long as you don't ridicule me when I train you, you will be allowed." He said, his voice steep and straightforward as he gently shared a look with the princess who was walking on his right side.

"Haha!"

"What!"

"The way you speak is like you are the one in charge."

"Even if I'm not, I hate it when people ridicule me." His eyes were gently shut, his hands folded, knowing that the road was clear.

"It's okay, I'll be watching the way you will learn; I won't think of ill-treating you." A serious look flashed in Sonia's eyes as she spoke.

"Sure, why not? I'll be waiting to see if you will keep your word."

"Sure!"

The two went to Satoru's place, where they found him training two people, mostly Kai's age. Kai got in with an emotionless face, making sure that nobody would ridicule him, and mostly, he was stabilizing his status as a bodyguard. Mostly bodyguards don't smile, so he copied and looked at the world in front of him as a bodyguard.
