Damien
The ceremony was finally over and I couldn't help the feeling of guilt that spread all over me but I couldn't do anything to change the situation even if I wanted to.
Vincent Blackwood—Serena's father, informed me of the events late, so late that even if I wanted to send my armies to intercept the situation, it would have still been too late.
Serena stood beside me, still in her gown, her face was pale and blank. I wanted to reach for her, but I knew it wouldn't make a difference. Nothing I said right now could fix what had happened.
The guards moved quickly, clearing the chapel and securing the perimeter. I could tell by the way they kept glancing outside that something wasn't right.
Serena turned to me sharply, her face was full of anger and white as a board. "I want to go back."
"Serena—"
She cut me off.
"No, Damien. I need to see my father. You said that we should get married first right? Well we are married now. Let me go and see him."
