Its body is marked with yellow rings near the head, thin black stripes, and its tail resembles a rattlesnake's.
However, this one was not only four or five times larger than a normal Arbok, but its appearance had also changed; it had grown horns, showing some characteristics of ancient dragons from Chinese mythology, which was truly unexpected.

Suppressed, Arbok roared, tossing Muk into the air, coiling and using Glare.
Muk, lacking agility, was paralyzed, its speed greatly hindered.
"This won't do.
Without speed, I'll make it unsure which to hit!
Muk, use Double Team, then Sludge Bomb."
Muk created clones, launching Sludge Bombs at Arbok.
Facing attacks from all sides, Arbok calmly coiled, spinning and shooting venom, countering Muk, filling the area with smoke.

Muk softened, liquefying, reappearing beside Arbok.
Seizing Arbok's confusion, Alex commanded, "Muk, give it the final blow! Dig!"
Muk burrowed underground—a Ground-type move, lethal to Poison-type Arbok.
Muk's blow felled Arbok, its eyes spinning, exhausted and defeated.
Muk was also worn out; Alex recalled it to its Poké Ball.
"System Alert: Host defeated the giant mutated Arbok, gaining 100,000 points."
"What a deal, I'll take this Arbok too! Huh?"
As Alex prepared to capture Arbok, its body shrank, reverting to normal, spitting out a meteorite.
"This stone caused Arbok's change; I'll keep it." Alex stored the meteorite in his spatial inventory.
"Thank you for saving us," Emily said, blushing, bowing to Alex.
"Haha, it was nothing, Emily, no need for thanks.
It's chilly; wear more." Alex draped his jacket over Emily.
Emily blushed deeper, thanking him, casting shy glances, clearly interested in Alex.
As Alex pondered his next move, the revived Arbok hissed, now affectionate, rubbing against Alex's leg.
"It seems it wants me to capture it, perfect."
After capturing Arbok, Alex entrusted it to Emily.
"Emily, I'll leave Arbok to protect you and the Pokémon.
Though it almost harmed you, it was the meteorite, not its intention.
With Arbok here, I'm reassured."
"…Okay, I still don't know your name or where you're from."
"My name is Alex Carter, from Pallet Town!" Alex smiled, making Emily's heart flutter.
"Pallet Town? Do you know Ash?
He left recently, taking the Bulbasaur that protected this place.
He's strong, earning Bulbasaur's approval."
"Ash and I are good friends.
People from Pallet Town are powerful, haha." Alex thought, maintaining a subtle smile, hiding his Villain identity from Emily.
After bidding Emily farewell, Alex set his sights on Vermilion City to obtain the Electric-type Gym badges.
