Chapter 38 - Tang San Has Arrived

Oscar Xin had a flattering smile on his face as he eagerly ran toward Teacher Li Yusong.

While running, Oscar Xin deliberately revealed his best configuration of three spirit rings and loudly shouted his first spirit skill's incantation:"Full of Vitality, Charcoal-Grilled Cheese Beef Burger!"

Holding two freshly produced first-spirit-skill hamburgers, Oscar Xin presented them as treasures, offering one to Teacher Li Yusong and one to Dai Mubai.

If Dai Mubai felt moved when he received the burger, then Li Yusong's feelings could only be described as speechless.

This kid Oscar Xin was clearly treating him and Dai Mubai like walking advertisements.

He was blatantly telling all the new students preparing to register that what they sold were foods made by a Food-type Spirit Master at the Spirit Elder level using spirit skills.

The implication was obvious: these foods could benefit the examinees in the upcoming entrance test — so come and buy them!

Meanwhile, Oscar, standing behind the small cart, also caught on. He too revealed his own set of "yellow, yellow, purple" spirit rings — the best configuration for his level — and began loudly shouting:

"Dear examinees and parents, don't miss out as you pass by!

Food created live by a Spirit Elder–level Food-type Spirit Master — eat it and you'll be bursting with energy, full of spirit, and your spirit power will be replenished!

Whether it's hamburgers or sausages, it's only five copper soul coins each!

You're waiting around anyway — why not buy one to eat while you wait?"

After Oscar's whole sales pitch, Teacher Li Yusong's face darkened, but in front of so many students he couldn't really say anything.

Dai Mubai, however, suddenly realized that he'd been played by this pair of brothers.

He glared fiercely at the two smiling troublemakers, then raised his eyebrows and took a step forward.

As his foot came down, Dai Mubai shouted,"White Tiger, Possession!"Instantly completing his martial soul possession.

Once again, three spirit rings — yellow, yellow, purple — floated up, immediately drawing the attention of the examinees and their parents who had been about to go buy food.

"Everyone, please take a look! We three are all current students of Shrek Academy.

I am fifteen years old this year, a Level 37 Spirit Elder of the Power Attack System.

The other two are fourteen years old, Level 36 Spirit Elders of the Food-type Support System.

Please rest assured, as long as you meet the Academy's admission requirements, the Academy guarantees your growth speed!"

After saying that, Dai Mubai returned to his original position as if nothing had happened.

However, his words had an immediate effect.

First, Teacher Li Yusong's expression improved noticeably.

Second, the crowd, which had been a bit dissatisfied with the Academy being located in such a shabby village, quieted down again.

From behind the cart, Oscar Xin pouted slightly — What's the point? Even if you say all that, it's not going to increase the number of new students accepted.

But soon he didn't have time to think about it, because after Li Yusong displayed his seven spirit rings and restated the Academy's admission requirements — filtering out those trying to sneak through — customers began approaching their stall to buy food.

It's worth mentioning that at this point, all of Shrek Academy's teachers had already advanced to the Spirit Saint level:Li Yusong at Level 71, Lu Qibin at Level 72, Shao Xin at Level 73, Zhao Wuji at Level 77, and Flender at Level 79.

After Oscar and Oscar Xin sold over a dozen hamburgers and sausages, most of the examinees had already bought some, so no one else came.

But the brothers didn't mind — they weren't short on money anyway, they were just there for fun.

When business wrapped up, they took out small stools from their storage soul tools, sat down, and ate while quietly commenting on the examinees before them — even their pet Cohen nodded or shook its head now and then.

After more than ten minutes, Oscar suddenly froze like he'd lost his soul, falling silent.

Oscar Xin looked up — and saw a beautiful short-haired girl had somehow joined the line.

Combining that with Oscar's reaction, Oscar Xin immediately thought,Could this be my future sister-in-law, the little princess of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect — Ning Rongrong?

To avoid letting Ning Rongrong see Oscar's embarrassing expression, Oscar Xin quickly tugged at his brother to snap him back to his senses.

Realizing that he'd slipped up in front of his younger brother, Oscar hurriedly coughed awkwardly, pretending nothing had happened.

Oscar Xin didn't care — because he had spotted Tang San and Xiao Wu.

After observing them closely, he found that, just as Dai Mubai had said, Tang San at this time was truly unremarkable — throw him into a crowd and you'd never pick him out.

A glint of excitement flickered in Oscar Xin's eyes.Who would have thought that this plain-looking boy was actually a half-beast powerhouse? And the beautiful girl beside him — a living 100,000-year spirit beast!

Perhaps Oscar Xin's gaze was too intense, or maybe Tang San's senses were too sharp, because Tang San, who had just taken his place at the end of the line, suddenly looked directly toward Oscar Xin.

Realizing his observation had been noticed, Oscar Xin didn't panic — he kept his friendly smile and nodded at Tang San, then pointed in Dai Mubai's direction.

Tang San, seeing this, relaxed his guard.

He explained to the wary Xiao Wu beside him:"It's fine. He should be a student of Shrek Academy.Dai Mubai probably mentioned us after going back yesterday — he recognized us and was just greeting us."

As he spoke, Tang San even nodded back at Dai Mubai, who had already seen them.

After the line moved forward a few steps, Tang San reached the front and decided to buy some food from the cart for the slightly hungry Xiao Wu.

He casually chatted a bit with the Oscar brothers, and when he heard that both were fourteen-year-old Food-type Spirit Elders, a flash of surprise crossed his eyes before he hid it.

Still, when he returned to the queue, Tang San couldn't help but think:Another pair of Spirit Elders — and of the Food-type, which is known for slow cultivation speed. At just fourteen years old too... It seems listening to Teacher and applying to Shrek Academy really was the right choice.

Soon, it was the turn of the short-haired girl who had made Oscar lose his composure.

Oscar Xin clearly saw the girl reveal her beautiful Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda martial soul when showing her spirit rings.

No mistake about it — definitely my future sister-in-law, Oscar Xin thought to himself. He glanced at Oscar — his foolish brother was still lost in her beauty, not thinking about anything else.

Just as he was about to tease his brother, Oscar Xin saw Cohen, who had been resting its head on its paws, suddenly raise its head.

Following Cohen's gaze, Oscar Xin saw that at the end of the line, behind Tang San, a cold, ice-like young woman had appeared — and Tang San hadn't even noticed her presence.

Zhu Zhuqing, huh? As expected. A good Agility Attack System Spirit Master's speed and stealth are truly frightening.

Knowing that next, Dai Mubai would lead Tang San, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing to pass the spirit power test and move straight to the fourth trial — the actual combat round, Oscar Xin pulled Oscar away from the gate.

They went ahead to the fourth test area to wait, so they wouldn't miss the start of the good show.

However, Oscar Xin didn't realize that the situation had already changed from what he remembered.

Now, all four of the Academy's students would appear at the fourth test, and both Oscar and himself could use soul tools to achieve considerable combat strength. Most importantly, there would be four examinees too.

Under these circumstances — would Zhao Wuji really still take action himself?

Sure enough, at the fourth test area, Zhao Wuji looked at the four gathered students and the four examinees brought by Dai Mubai and said directly to Tang San's group:

"This round tests actual combat.

Coincidentally, you're four people, and the Academy's students are also four — so it'll be a four-on-four team battle.

Considering that three of the students are Spirit Elders, you don't need to win — just hold out for one stick of incense's time.

I'll give both teams ten minutes to discuss your tactics. When time's up, I'll announce the start."

To be honest, Oscar Xin's feelings at this moment were complicated — it wasn't a great feeling when the "show" he had come to watch suddenly involved him.

But there was no time to dwell on it; the other three were already habitually looking toward him.

Waving them closer, Oscar Xin didn't waste words and immediately began his analysis and tactical arrangement.
