Jay whispered, his voice cold but thick with threat and feral lust.
Liv could only hold her breath, her body trembling violently beneath Jay's unyielding gaze and possessive grip. She knew tonight, the line between man and monster was gone Jay had become a true alpha, demanding and marking his prey.
A deep, guttural growl rumbled from Jay's throat like a wolf's warning. Liv knew that sound; she knew he was a monster, and the way his hand crushed the iron bedframe as he pressed into her was proof.
When Liv opened her eyes, the bed beneath her was destroyed. Feathers floated in the air from torn pillows, the satin sheets shredded, even the mattress ravaged. Her bare skin was dusted with stray feathers and marked everywhere by Jay's possession.
Jay was gone when she woke, leaving her alone in the wreckage. Emptiness pressed in. Her body ached everywhere most of all between her legs, where the pain throbbed as a reminder of everything that had happened.
