Liv reflexively touched the small of her back, her heart beating faster.
"What could cause it to disappear?" Liv asked softly, her voice a mix of curiosity and worry.
"For example, rejection, or if the woman is no longer pure because of someone else," Ted replied calmly.
Liv swallowed hard, her mind drifting to the past, remembering how she had once broken the bond by being with Andrey. Fortunately, the gods gave her a chance to redo time. Otherwise, she might never have been able to change her life, let alone seek revenge.
"Has there ever been a case like that?" Liv asked again, her voice still low.
"Of course, there are many ladies," Ted answered.
Liv nodded slowly and continued walking along the fortress. She remained silent, gazing into the distance, seemingly lost in thought. Ted also stayed quiet, letting her contemplate in peace.
"By the way, do we really not have separate rooms?" Liv asked, turning her gaze toward Ted.
