Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Nothing Happened.

World of the Campione!

After hearing Miyuki Uchiha's encouragement and Jaeger's final words, Luo Hao said nothing.

Her expression turned icy.

Not fragile and neither furious.

Just… distant.

A cold, imperious calm reserved for queens, tyrants, and gods.

Because disappointment? It was laughable.

She was a Campione.

A Godslayer.

A Demon King.

The kind of woman who broke myths before breakfast and lectured the gods on proper etiquette before kicking their teeth in.

She didn't rage over bad rolls like some common gacha victim.

No. That would be far too pathetic.

If anything, she considered another possibility.

Maybe that reward wasn't "bad."

Maybe it was waiting—for someone strong enough to unlock its true worth.

And who better than her?

Her eyes narrowed.

"…Let's kick it up a notch."

She opened the interface again. The screen shimmered before her like a command seal awaiting orders.

Three skills.

She chose them without hesitation.

Of course not one of her strongest.

Just ones she didn't give a damn about.

The first two were martial techniques she barely bothered using anymore:

Star-Absorbing — flashy name, boring execution. Mostly used by desperate fighters. Not her style.

Shadowless Skill — looked cool in theory, but who needs to vanish when you can crush someone face-to-face?

And the third?

An authority she claimed from slaying the Persian Dragon-Gods.

The Heavens Are Dead — an apocalyptic spell that called down twin eclipses, blotting out the sun and moon like a divine "fuck you" to the sky.

She hadn't used it in forever.

So yeah. Into the blender it went.

Most people would play it safe.

She wasn't most people.

She didn't tiptoe.

"I won't fail."

Her voice echoed across the empty field like a decree from the heavens.

This wasn't arrogance.

This was certainty.

After all—when you're a living myth, luck doesn't decide outcomes.

You do.

Without hesitation, Luo Hao slammed all three skills into the Enhancement Core like she was ordering takeout.

[Ding! Enhancement failed. Star-Absorbing has been shattered.]

[Ding! Enhancement failed. Shadowless Skill has been shattered.]

[Ding! Enhancement failed. Power "The Heavens Are Dead" has been shattered.]

A long silence.

Luo Hao blinked.

Then blinked again.

"…Huh."

She tilted her head, slightly confused. Something felt… off.

Like when you walk into a room and forget what you came in for—but instead of a shopping list, it was your entire god-slaying technique.

She tried to remember the palm technique.

Gone.

The shadow step?

Gone.

The apocalyptic eclipse authority?

lmao nope.

Her eye twitched.

"…So I just tossed a divine power into a glorified blender and got nothing back."

She stared at the Enhancement Core, as if expecting it to apologize.

It didn't.

She let out a soft, deadpan exhale and muttered, "Martial arts can be re-learned."

Pause.

"…Divine power, though..."

Still, her pride wouldn't let her spiral. She straightened her posture, casually brushed off her sleeve, and acted like nothing happened.

Losing powers? Totally normal.

She could just go kill another god later. Easy.

Not like anyone needed to know.

She absolutely did not post this in the group chat.

Although she hadn't interacted much with modern society, Luo Hao wasn't ignorant.

She understood the basics.

And thanks to the chat group, she knew even more.

Which is exactly why she kept her mouth shut.

Because deep down, she had a bad feeling.

Not about Miyuki Uchiha.

Okay, maybe her a little.

But mostly… Nerona Jaeger.

If he found out she just lost a divine power to a failed enhancement?

She was done.

Maybe he'd get back at her for what she said earlier.

For some reason, she felt an odd, stubborn urge not to be outdone by him—even though she couldn't explain why.

So let them all believe she was quietly cooking something powerful.

So instead, she typed:

[ Chat Group ]

Luo Hao: "Anyone else want to try the Enhancement Core?"

Sakura Tosaka: "...I don't have anything worth enhancing, Luo Hao-san."

Miyuki Uchiha: [Gift Box] "Here's a kunai. It's mass-produced and cheap—might be good to test with."

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "I live in a normal world… nothing worth enhancing here."

Esdeath: [Gift Box] "Teigu: Infinite Uses – Cross Tail. Took it from some guy named Lubbock in Night Raid. It's useless to me now."

Miyuki Uchiha: "Lubbock... wasn't he the guy who had a thing for Najenda in the anime? He's dead?"

Esdeath: "Frozen to death. Made for a decent power-up to my 'God of War' authority."

Miyuki Uchiha: "Damn. Even knowing it's canon, watching familiar characters get clapped still feels weird."

Yamamoto Mei: "That's normal. Our existence shifts the fate of many worlds."

Yamamoto Mei: "You can't expect Esdeath or any other characters to act like they did in their original anime after joining the chat group."

Yamamoto Mei: [Gift Box] "Here's an unformed Zanpakutō – Shikai. Feel free to try enhancing it."

Nerona Jaeger: [Gift Box] "This is the Blood Drinking Sword. Just picked it up. I don't mind if it breaks—if it succeeds, keep it."

--

Back in the World of the Campione, Luo Hao felt a rare flicker of pressure.

They had trusted her.

No hesitation. No doubts.

They just handed their items over—like it was nothing.

She had to succeed.

She would succeed.

…But reality had other plans.

[Ding! Enhancement failed. Teigu: Infinite Uses – Cross Tail has been shattered.]

[Ding! Enhancement failed. Kunai has been shattered.]

[Ding! Enhancement failed. Zanpakutō – Shikai has been shattered.]

Silence.

Even though everyone had willingly offered their items, Luo Hao still felt a rare, unfamiliar pang in her chest.

Was this… guilt?

She stared at the Enhancement Core.

"…One last try."

Her eyes narrowed as they landed on the Blood Drinking Sword—the one Jaeger had casually tossed in.

She slid Jaeger's sword straight in to her core.

[Ding! Enhancement successful! 『Blood Drinking Sword』 level increased by 1.]

"…!"

Her eyes widened.

A small, rare flicker of genuine surprise and maybe, just maybe, joy—crossed her face.

Success.

Finally.

She exhaled quietly.

Now she didn't look like a total fraud.

[Blood Drinking Sword +1]

[Level: 2]

[Type: Personal Noble Phantasm

Range: 2 meters

Origin: Forged from the legend of a lone swordsman who annihilated a kingdom. Infused with divine energy from the Hand of Hermes.]

[Effect: Constantly drains blood and vitality from nearby enemies, strengthening the wielder—even without making contact.]

Luo Hao examined the description with a thoughtful hum.

"Tch… A good sword," she muttered, "but not very useful for me."

Still, she couldn't ignore the fact—it was her first successful enhancement.

And somehow, that mattered.

She tapped the screen.

[Post to Group Chat: Enhancement Result – Blood Drinking Sword +1]

Luo Hao: "Although it might not be good to hear, I still have to tell you all—almost all the items broke during enhancement."

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Seven tries, six failures… that's—"

Miyuki Uchiha: "That's a 14% success rate. Feels like I'm playing a gacha game again."

Yamamoto Mei: "At least one worked. And it looks like Jaeger-kun has great luck."

Esdeath: "It's fine. That Teigu was worthless to me."

Luo Hao: "@Jaeger Should I return the Blood Drinking Sword to you?"

Nerona Jaeger: "No need. I meant what I said—if it succeeds, it's yours."

Jaeger, having already obtained far more powerful items like Chaos Dragon Leviathan and Hercules Belt, had no reason to hold onto a lesser weapon like the Blood Drinking Sword.

To him, it was just spare change.

Luo Hao: "Then I accept. I won't keep this for nothing. I'll return something better in the future."

Miyuki Uchiha: "…Wait a minute."

Miyuki Uchiha: "That's hella sus."

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "This does feel suspiciously wholesome."

Miyuki Uchiha: "Woooo! I Know! Is this a love token?! Luo Hao-sama, watch out! His Royal Highness Jaeger is trying to lure you into bed with shiny gifts!"

Sakura Tosaka: "..."

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Classic Miyuki… One of these days your mouth's going to land you in real trouble."

Esdeath: "If this is courtship, it's pretty tame. No blood, no chains, no screaming. Honestly a little disappointing."

Nerona Jaeger: "..."

Miyuki Uchiha: "..."

Kasumigaoka Utaha: "..."

Yamamoto Mei: "Esdeath, I think… you may have misunderstood what normal relationships look like."

--

World of the Campione!

"This girl… a bit too bold," Luo Hao muttered to herself, squinting at Miyuki's name on the chat window.

To joke about the Demon King so casually…

There had to be consequences.

Not immediate. No—she wasn't that petty.

But someday.

At a time of her choosing.

Preferably when Miyuki least expected it.

"Verbal punishment… or perhaps something more physical," she mused aloud, sipping tea with elegance.

Luo Hao's gaze shifted.

Jaeger—the so-called Celestial Dragon from the One Piece world—had gone live.

Out of mild curiosity (and maybe the tiniest bit of suspicion), she tapped into the stream.

[LIVE: Impel Down – Level 6: Eternal Hell]

BZZZT—Static cleared.

His long coat trailed behind him like a cape.

Wearing the Hercules Belt, Jaeger walked calmly through a cold steel corridor. Each step echoed against the reinforced walls, lined with Sea Prism stones.

He stopped in front of a high-security prison cell.

Inside sat a legendary figure.

Aloof Red—Patrick Redfield.

A pirate who once rivaled Roger and Whitebeard—before the world decided he was too dangerous to be left alive.

He sat there, chained and calm.

His eyes, though dulled with age, locked onto Jaeger like a predator watching a storm walk in.

Redfield said quietly.

"I saw it."

"My own death."

His voice rasped, but every syllable landed like a hammer.

"They were calling you… 'Saint Jaeger' just now. You one of those Celestial Dragons?"
