Meanwhile, Vegeta, operating in secret, hovered in mid-air, muttering to himself.
"What just happened? Why did I sense the energy of those guys I saw on Earth?"
"Or have I not fully mastered this technique yet? Is there something wrong with my perception? Never mind… first, let's find the Namekians."
Beside Frieza, Zarbon spoke hesitantly, "Lord Frieza, just now, I sensed several powerful energy signatures from the seven o'clock direction. They might be from the Namekians, but they appeared only briefly before disappearing."
Frieza tilted his head, intrigued. "Appeared briefly and disappeared? Hm… interesting."
He wagged his tail slowly. "Dodoria, investigate. Go see what's happening."
"Yes, Lord Frieza," Dodoria replied respectfully and flew in the direction Zarbon indicated.
Frieza's subordinate, Zarbon, looked worried. "Lord Frieza, what if Dodoria encounters Vegeta alone?"
Frieza laughed, covering his mouth. "Vegeta? Haha! Don't worry. If you're concerned, come see for yourself. I also plan to send the Ginyu Force to Namek."
Zarbon's eyes widened. "The Ginyu Force?!"
After all, the Ginyu Force is Frieza's elite combat squad, rarely dispatched for minor threats.
Their deployment to Namek confused Zarbon—but he dared not question Frieza. Even if he had courage, defying Frieza was unthinkable.
Frieza's expression darkened slightly. "I don't know why… but I have a bad feeling."
Zarbon's shock grew. He had never heard Frieza speak of premonitions before.
No wonder he was sending the Ginyu Force.
Meanwhile, Vegeta had raided a Namekian village and successfully obtained a Dragon Ball.
Holding it, he smirked. "Now that I have one Dragon Ball, Frieza can't collect all seven. This gives me a chance."
He looked around carefully. "I'll hide it somewhere Frieza can't find it… perhaps at the bottom of the lake."
As long as Frieza was prevented from gathering all seven Dragon Balls, Vegeta believed he could eventually find an opportunity to kill Frieza—and that meddlesome Kakarot too.
Just as Vegeta prepared to leave, he sensed a powerful force moving quickly from his left.
He smirked. "Dodoria… leaving Frieza's side to act alone? Bold… but don't blame me if I kill you."
Vegeta surged forward, chasing after Dodoria.
Dodoria had been searching along the way but saw no one. Puzzled, she muttered, "Strange… is the detector malfunctioning? I haven't seen anyone."
"Forget it," she thought. "Let's return. Continuing this search seems pointless."
But as she turned, a figure approached swiftly.
Dodoria froze. "It's… you, Vegeta!"
Vegeta landed in front of her, smiling. "Dodoria! Long time no see. Why aren't you with Frieza?"
Fear gripped Dodoria's heart despite Vegeta's calm greeting.
She pointed at him. "Vegeta… why betray Lord Frieza? Aren't you afraid he'll kill you?"
Vegeta scoffed. "Dodoria… afraid of Frieza? Stop joking."
Dodoria spread her hands. "Well, Vegeta… if you let me go, I'll pretend I know nothing."
Vegeta sneered, arms crossed. "Are you an idiot, Dodoria?"
Dodoria clenched his fists.
Zarbon had previously detected Vegeta's combat power at 27,000—but he wasn't sure if it was accurate. If true, Dodoria was in deep trouble. If false, he had nothing to fear.
Vegeta demanded, "What are you thinking, Dodoria?"
Dodoria took a deep breath. "Vegeta… do you want to know how your Saiyan race was destroyed? It wasn't a meteor… it was Lord Frieza."
Vegeta didn't flinch. "And? Are these your last words? I don't care. I've never cared whether Frieza destroyed the Saiyans."
What mattered to Vegeta was that Frieza had always controlled him—and that control made him furious.
Seeing Vegeta's nonchalant attitude, Dodoria shivered but pressed on.
"Vegeta… I'll tell you another secret. Frieza destroyed the Saiyans because he feared the emergence of a Super Saiyan."
"That's why he wiped out your entire race… just in case."
