The clouds covering the sun must have been holding countless raindrops, because they were all gray. The sky was a pale blue, looking lifeless and hopeless.
The scattered, grainy clouds drifting around the patches of pale blue sky were like Evelyn's mind, who were sitting on one of the benches in the large company's garden.
Her mind was messy, hazy, and gloomy, just like those clouds.
"You didn't... bully anyone."
Evelyn turned to Julian at her side when he spoke. Julian was also watching the cloudy sky. When Evelyn looked at him, he continued talking.
"You don't even need to take anything Carmela said seriously, she doesn't know what she's talking about. You're not someone like her."
Evelyn didn't think Julian was lying. From the angry and troubled expression on his face as he spoke, she could tell he was being honest. Someone who didn't believe her about the memory loss wouldn't have any reason to lie about something like this, at least that's what she thought.
