Chapter 17 - Act.2 - Part 11

"It's a bit tight, Kyoko."

"You only have yourself to blame for being too big, Nach."

"Even if it was you—"

"Stop being a pervert for a minute and put your clothes on already!"

Despite her loud voice attracting the attention of the undead in the hallway outside the faculty room—causing them to start bashing the door again, trying to get in—Kyoko didn't care and simply lashed out at Nach.

Her anger wasn't about Nach's perverted nature—she had already accepted that ever since she offered her body to him last night, partly as gratitude for saving her life and overwhelming her fear with intimacy, and partly so he would keep his promise to protect her and keep her safe. However, that last part was exactly why she was mad.

She had offered not only her body but herself to him, her heart swayed by his words and affection, her body intoxicated by his touch and lust. Yet despite all of that, Nach refused to stay by her side, insisting on their original plan for him to ride the bus with Shizuka's group.

"So you're really just a pervert. Now that you've used me, you're going after Marikawa…"

Before she could voice more of her painful thoughts, Nach embraced Kyoko again, trying to calm her not only with his touch but with his words.

"Of course it wasn't like that…"

Nach could have asked her to come with him to Shizuka's group, but there was no way Kyoko would abandon the students under her care, not with how dutiful a teacher she was.

Kyoko was more capable on her own compared to Shizuka—or at least that's how Nach saw them, despite the fact that Kyoko died right at the start of the original story while Shizuka survived (with Saeko saving her, of course).

Staying by Kyoko's side to protect her and keep her safe was also logical. Shizuka and the main cast would likely survive with their plot armor, but with the changes happening to the original story, even their plot armor might be crumbling as well.

The main cast was probably his only clue to waking up from this dream—or so he thought. So he needed to keep them safe for the story to move forward. Besides, there were other side characters he wanted to save.

Therefore…

"I know I can trust you to keep our students safe, Kyoko," he said, believing whatever lazy and lousy new plot that would ensure Kyoko reached Saya's household safely along with the other side characters and students.

His words and touch swayed her heart and body again, and even though she still had doubts in her mind, Kyoko decided to believe him.

"What do you mean our students…" she said. Yet despite her harsh words, she returned his embrace before continuing, "...you're not even a real teacher."

That should've quelled Kyoko's anger, but Nach's pervertedness made her flare up again.

"But you won't mind if I have Shizuka as well, right?"

"You freaking pervert!"

---

It was still dark outside, with dawn approaching.

In the original story, the main cast didn't spend the night at the school but at Shizuka's friend's house. That should've messed up the story's timeline, but Nach was somehow confident that all events in the original plot would still happen.

Where did he get such confidence?

[READER'S VIEWPOINT: Extra in Highschool of the Dead]

Name: Nach Smith

Progress: Act.2 (Page --/58)

---

The story progress shown on the holographic screen in the corner of his vision had been stuck on Act.2, so he at least wanted to believe that events would proceed as written as long as he didn't interfere too much.

Setting aside his concern about the Reader's Viewpoint—and the tightness of the green-and-white P.E. uniform he was wearing, the one Kyoko found in the faculty room—Nach glanced at Kyoko, who was now wearing the same clothes.

Kyoko was rummaging through the drawers until she let out a heavy sigh of relief after finding what she was searching for.

However, Nach didn't like what he saw in her hands, so he silently approached from behind, snatched it away, and threw her a teasing grin as she spun around and lunged at him in a panic.

"Give it back, you idiot!" Kyoko shouted, trying to take back the morning pills she had confiscated from a female student before—but Nach held them high so she couldn't reach.

"Why should I, when I want to get you pregnant?" he teased, indulging in her flustered reactions.

"I told you… I can't… not with the chaos happening right now…"

Satisfied with her answer, Nach handed Kyoko a pill and pocketed the rest in his jacket. But before she could take it, Nach stopped her hand and made her promise something else.

"Then when the chaos starts to settle, you'll have my child, right?"

"Fine! I'll bear your child when this is over. Is that enough for you?"

It was more than enough for Nach—especially if he ended up stuck in the world of Highschool of the Dead for the rest of his life.

But on second thought…

"And you're okay if I have Shizuka as well, right, Kyoko?"

"Just let me take it and do whatever you want, pervert!"

---

As in the original story, no help from the authorities came to the school. So after Kyoko took the morning pill, and as the first light of dawn illuminated the school grounds, they began the plan they had agreed on.

Kyoko took the keys to the four microbuses, while Nach took the key to Shizuka's car from her bag—just as Shizuka told him yesterday when they were planning their escape on the rooftop.

With the undead swarming the hallways, their way out was through the second-floor window. But that wasn't a problem for Nach, given his physical abilities honed by years of survival training.

He jumped from the second-floor window, landed safely, and swiftly eliminated the few undead lurking behind the building with his baseball bat before telling Kyoko to jump so he could catch her.

Since Kyoko was still wearing heels, it would be hard for her to run fast, so Nach carried her over his shoulder again. Not that he could run at full speed either—he was still wearing indoor slippers.

Swiftly and stealthily, without alerting or fighting the undead they passed, they reached the microbuses at the parking lot.

Looking up at the rooftop, they could see the students and teachers watching them.

"Whatever happens, stick to the plan, Kyoko," Nach said as he opened the bus door and set her down.

To escape the school and head to Saya's household—that was the plan. But that wasn't all.

The first three buses—with Kyoko, Takuzo, and Takayama as drivers—would carry students far beyond their full capacity. Obviously, they didn't have the capability to take on any more passengers.

So no matter what happened, the first three buses wouldn't stop until they reached their destination—not to help strangers on the street nor other students if something happened to the other buses.

Helping strangers or other students would fall to the fourth bus—the one Nach would be riding.

"You can't stop even if something happens to me."

It was obviously a red flag, but if it was for Kyoko's safety, then so be it, Nach thought.

"I know… but make sure to stay alive so you can keep your promise to me…"

"You mean to get you pregnant?"

"To protect and keep me safe, pervert!"

As soon as Kyoko's voice drew the undead's attention, Nach kissed her before rushing out of the bus and sprinting toward Shizuka's car.

It was cramped inside due to his height and muscular build, but he managed to drive Shizuka's car, circling in front of the school buildings and honking like a "sweet-potato driver" to attract all the undead inside, making it easier for those on the rooftop to come down and reach the parking lot safely.

Nach drove to the opposite side of the parking lot, stopping beside the campus fence and continuing to blast the car's horn as the undead swarmed toward him.

But then he felt like something was wrong…

"No!—Something is definitely wrong! Why are the undead running like crazy!?"
