Chapter 5 - They were surprisingly...springy

Why did he kill them, you ask? Simple, it's efficient. On one hand, he can woo Vivianne without hindrance and can keep the treasure for himself. This is what they call killing two birds with one stone.

Shaking his head, he quickly disposed of the corpses. Even in her exhausted state, she was still a whole major realm above him. Though there was no certainty she would attack, he still had no intention to lower his guard.

He then glanced at the fight, which was nearing its end; both the ape and Vivianne were heavily injured. The Stone-faced ape had lost an entire arm, a deep cut at its knee, and was bleeding from its head.

Vivianne was no better, her hair messy, a deep cut on her left hand and chest, her hands trembling, but her spirit was unyielding; she stood with her back straight, eyes, although exhausted, still contained a trace of alertness.

She refused to go down, at least without a fight. Rahu observed her; his will to make her his strengthened further.

"Although a bit foolish to go all out and exhaust herself in the middle of nowhere, though her courage and strength are nothing short of admirable," Rahu mused.

The two of them were still going at each other in a fierce combat. With the ape having the upper hand in the defense a bit. Only a bit.

Vivianne again struck at the injured knee, her figure agile, leaping across the battlefield.

The ape howled in pain before releasing a thunderous roar. That shook the balance in Vivianne's stance.

Using this opportunity, the ape rushed towards, intending to finish this battle in a last, powerful strike.

"Is..this the end…Perhaps I was a bit stubborn this time?" Vivianne chuckled in her mind. The roar had already disrupted her system, and her eyes were starting to blur a bit.

Slash

Just as the ape was about to reach her, a small seax tore through its neck with brutal precision.

RAAWWRHHHH

The ape let out a painful whimper before its head was jerked off its body.

Just as darkness was about to envelop her in a peaceful embrace, she saw them–A pair of ethereal violet eyes, calm and distant. Watching her as she fell unconscious.

Just as she was about to fall, a strong hand gripped her waist and pulled her up just in time.

Now that he had a front-row view, even he had to admit that she was more beautiful than any other girl he had seen or fucked.

And that was definitely the highest form of appreciation one could have gotten out of him (according to him).

Silky silver hair cascaded down her waist, her body, a mix of blood, gore, and sweat. Her body was wounded everywhere, evident in her face, which was slightly contorted in pain.

He tossed her over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes and walked towards the slain ape. Storing its core in a storage ring, he grabbed the creature's massive body by its legs.

With a firm grip, he dragged the creature towards his cave, casually humming a song as if it were just another ordinary chore.

Pov- Vivvianne

"Uhh…It hurts. My whole body feels on fire. What happened? Oh, I was fighting the stone-face ape! That bastard was really strong."

"Makes sense, he was after all, a realm above me, and with such strong defense, no wonder I got thrashed, Sigh. I just hope Luo Ming and Bai Ming have secured that Spirit Lotus."

"Sigh...if not for that Spirit Lotus, we wouldn't be in this situation, and Lin Hao, Calder, Aiden, and Orren wouldn't have died…Master will definitely scold me."

"But at last we got that herb, and this damn seal will finally be lifted."

Sigh

"And who was that who saved me? As far as I remember, I saw a pair of violet eyes, glowing and… attractive."

"Haah, Mhm, something smells really good though…WAIT! Smell!?" With a jolt, Vivianne woke up from her slumber. Her eyes darted around nervously.

Pov - end

The first thing Vivianne saw was a rough, uneven stone ceiling, evidently a cave. "W-where am I? What is this place!?" She yelled...a bit too high.

"Uh, quiet down, kid. Why are you so damn loud?" A calm yet lazy voice chimed in her ears. She instantly snapped her pretty face towards the source of the voice.

There sat the most handsome guy she had ever seen in her life, raven-black hair flowing down his shoulders, tight muscles and an incredibly broad chest, and those eyes—those violet orbs, which demanded attention, which it certainly received.

"What? I know I'm handsome, but shouldn't you be more worried about your condition, Kid?" He said lazily without even glancing at her. For he was busy with an incredibly important task– grilling! Yes, he was barbecuing the appetizing ape meat.

Her brain suddenly zapped itself, bringing her out of the trance. She panicked and looked down; her thin bandages were bravely fighting to hold her assets, but inevitably, they were losing the battle.

While the rest of her body was almost mummified, leaving only her fair stomach and head open.

Her white robe still covered her lower body. She sighed in relief. Then, as if her pretty head realised something, she snapped her head back at Rahu.

"Did you just call me a Kid?" Vivianne glared at the laidback, lazy guy.

"Haah, what has the world become? I just saved a kid from a life-threatening danger, and let alone thanking me, she is glaring at me as if I'm some villain!, Goddess, please take me into your sweet embrace before my poor, fragile heart breaks apart."

Rahu lamented dramatically as if struck by great sorrow, though the slight smirk at the corner of his lips betrayed his honest character.

Vivianne's eyes widened as awareness returned to them.

"M-my apologies, sir!, I didn't realize because my head was a bit muddled. You have my sincerest gratitude for having saved my life. I will definitely compensate for this."

She quickly bowed her head and apologized, after all, she's aware of her beauty, and she did not doubt that most of them, without hesitation, will definitely take adva-

"Oh, no need for your thanks—they were surprisingly...springy"
